Is the workshop safe for secondary school students?

Safety is our absolute priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 masks, gloves, and protective overalls for every student. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated areas, and our professional artists are trained to manage large groups safely. We use low-odour, high-quality spray paints. Prior to the session, we provide a full safety briefing to ensure everyone understands how to handle the equipment responsibly while having a blast.

Do students need prior art experience?

Absolutely not! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Most students have never held a spray can before they meet us. Our artists are expert teachers who break down the process into simple, manageable steps—from basic lines to advanced shading. We focus on building confidence and creative expression, ensuring that every teen walks away feeling proud of the masterpiece they helped create.

Where in London do the workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible! We can bring the workshop to your school grounds if you have a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated sports hall. Alternatively, we can host your group at one of our legal street art spots across London, such as the famous Leake Street Arches or sites in Shoreditch, for a truly authentic urban experience that students will never forget.

How long does a typical session last?

Our standard secondary school sessions typically run between 1.5 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for the history lesson, technique practice, and the creation of a final large-scale mural or individual canvases. We can also adapt the timing to fit your specific school timetable or extend the session for a full-day 'deep dive' into urban culture and street art techniques.

What materials are included in the price?

We provide everything needed for a successful creative day. This includes a wide range of professional spray paint colours, caps (nozzles), protective gear (overalls, gloves, masks), and the 'canvases'—which could be large wooden boards, cling-film walls, or individual canvases for students to take home. You just need to provide the space and the enthusiastic students; we handle all the logistics and cleanup!

Can the workshop be linked to the school curriculum?

Street art is a fantastic way to explore themes like identity, community, and social justice. We often work with teachers to tailor workshops to specific curriculum goals, such as GCSE Art portfolios, history projects, or even marketing and design. Just let us know your objectives, and our artists will help weave those educational threads into the practical, hands-on spray painting session.

Step by step

Intro & Urban History: We start with a high-energy kick-off covering the roots of graffiti culture from NYC to London's Shoreditch.
Safety & Gear Up: Students get kitted out in professional protective gear and learn the essential 'rules of the can' for a safe session.
First Lines: Under expert guidance, students practice basic spraying techniques, learning how to control pressure and distance.
Sketching the Vision: The group collaborates on a design concept, often focusing on a school value, a specific theme, or a team name.
Filling & Fading: Our artists demonstrate how to use 'fat caps' for filling large areas and 'skinny caps' for those smooth gradient fades.
Outline & Detail: This is where the magic happens! Students add the crisp outlines and highlights that make the artwork pop.
The Character Add-on: Many groups choose to add 'characters' or icons to their mural to give it a unique, personalized London edge.
The Big Reveal & Photos: We take high-quality group shots of the final masterpiece—perfect for the school newsletter or social media!
