Is the spray paint safe for participants with sensitivities?

Absolutely. Safety is our biggest priority in Adelaide. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep everyone clean and safe. Our facilitators are trained to supervise the use of spray cans closely, ensuring a controlled environment where the only thing 'wild' is the incredible art being created on the walls!

Can you host the workshop at our own facility in Adelaide?

We are very flexible! While we have a fantastic outdoor setup that captures the Adelaide vibe, we can also bring the workshop to your specific facility or a local community centre. As long as there is adequate ventilation and a bit of space for our boards, we can make the magic happen almost anywhere you feel most comfortable.

Do participants need to have any artistic skills beforehand?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. We use specialized techniques and stencils that allow participants to achieve impressive results regardless of their previous art experience. Our Adelaide artists are experts at encouraging 'happy accidents' and helping every individual find their unique creative voice through the paint.

How long does a typical session last?

Our standard Special Needs workshops in Adelaide typically run for about 1.5 to 2 hours. This timeframe is usually the 'sweet spot' for maintaining high energy and engagement without causing fatigue. However, we can easily shorten or extend the session based on the specific concentration levels and needs of your group.

What should participants wear to the workshop?

We suggest wearing comfortable clothes and sneakers that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on. While we provide full protective 'bunny suits', spray paint has a way of finding its way onto shoes! It’s all part of the fun of being a real street artist for a day in South Australia.

Can we take our artwork home after the session?

Yes, we do! If you'd like the group to work on individual canvases that they can take home to show off to family and friends, we can certainly arrange that. Alternatively, we can create one massive collaborative mural that serves as a proud permanent fixture for your Adelaide-based organization or school.

The experience

Why choose our special needs program in Adelaide? Because we focus on the person, not the disability. Here is why our workshops are a hit:

Sensory satisfaction: The tactile nature of spray cans and the vibrant visual feedback provide a wonderful sensory experience. 🎨
Confidence boost: Seeing a large-scale artwork finished at the end of the day gives a massive sense of accomplishment. ✨
Motor skill development: Using spray cans helps with fine motor control and hand-eye coordination in a fun way. 💪
Safety first: Professional grade gear and dedicated artists ensure a secure environment for everyone. 🛡️
Customised pace: We don't rush. We follow the rhythm of the participants to ensure no one feels overwhelmed. 🐢
No boring bits: From the first spray, it's all about action and creativity. 🎉

Step by step

Initial chat: We start by discussing the specific needs, interests, and abilities of your group to tailor the Adelaide session perfectly.
Artist matching: we pair you with a professional Adelaide street artist who has the right temperament and experience for inclusive workshops.
Safety first: Upon arrival, we gear everyone up in protective suits, masks, and gloves while explaining the 'rules of the road'.
Intro to tools: We demonstrate how the cans work, focusing on different nozzle pressures and easy-to-use techniques.
Design phase: Participants sketch out ideas or choose from our custom stencils to build their confidence.
First layers: It’s time to spray! Participants start applying colour to the wall or canvas under gentle guidance.
Detailing & effects: We show how to add flares, drips, and outlines to make the artwork really pop.
The big reveal: We take a moment to celebrate the group's achievement and snap some photos of the masterpieces.
No-hassle cleanup: We handle all the pack-up and disposal, leaving the site as clean as we found it.

Local culture

Adelaide has a legendary street art scene, with hidden gems tucked away in the laneways off Rundle Street and the massive murals of the Port Adelaide Wonderwalls festival. We bring that same local creative spirit to our inclusive workshops. We love drawing inspiration from the local landscape—from the red earth of the outback to the blues of Glenelg beach.

Fun Fact: Adelaide is home to some of Australia's most accessible public spaces, making it the perfect backdrop for our inclusive arts programs!

Whether we are working near the Torrens or in a private studio, we ensure the vibe is 100% Adelaide: relaxed, creative, and welcoming to all. We often incorporate local icons into our stencil designs so participants feel a real connection to their city.
