Is the workshop safe for people with respiratory sensitivities?

Absolutely. We prioritise safety by providing premium FFP3 respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls for every participant. Our artist instructors are trained to manage group dynamics carefully, ensuring that everyone stays within a safe distance while spraying. We also select locations in Biel with excellent ventilation or open-air spaces to ensure a comfortable and healthy environment for everyone involved.

Are the workshop locations in Biel wheelchair accessible?

Yes, our workshops are designed to be fully inclusive. We scout locations in Biel that offer flat, paved surfaces and wheelchair-accessible spray zones. Our instructors can adapt the height of the 'canvas' or wall to ensure that participants in wheelchairs can reach and express their creativity comfortably. Please let us know of any specific mobility requirements during the booking process so we can prepare accordingly.

What is the cancellation policy for special needs groups?

We understand that plans can change. One of the best things about Graffitifun is our 'pay after' policy. You don't need to pay anything upfront. If you need to cancel or move the date due to unforeseen circumstances with your group, just let us know as soon as possible. We also have a pool of backup artists to ensure your event goes ahead even if an instructor falls ill.

Do participants need prior artistic skills or experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are built on the idea that art is for everyone, regardless of previous experience. Our professional artists lead the group through simple, step-by-step techniques. We focus on the joy of movement, colour choice, and the sensory experience of spraying. Whether someone is a natural artist or has never picked up a can, they will leave with a sense of pride.

How do you handle participants with sensory processing needs?

Graffiti is a fantastic sensory activity. The sound of the rattle in the can, the feel of the spray, and the vibrant colours provide excellent stimulation. However, we are mindful of sensory overload. Our instructors are patient and can adapt the pace of the workshop, providing a calmer environment or quiet areas if a participant needs a break from the activity.

How long does a typical special needs workshop last?

Standard workshops for special needs groups usually last between 1.5 and 2 hours. We’ve found this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining engagement without causing fatigue. However, we are completely flexible. If your group in Biel would prefer a shorter, high-energy session or a longer, more relaxed experience with multiple breaks, we can tailor the schedule to fit your specific needs.

The experience

Why choose our special needs program in the watch-making capital of Biel? Because art is a universal language that speaks when words aren't enough. Here’s why our workshops are a perfect fit:

Tailored approach: We don't do "one size fits all." Every workshop is customised to the physical and sensory needs of the participants.
Boosts confidence: Seeing a large-scale piece of art come to life provides an immediate sense of accomplishment and pride.
Sensory-rich experience: The tactile nature of the cans and the visual impact of the colours offer therapeutic benefits.
Professional artists: Our team isn't just skilled with spray paint; they are patient, encouraging, and experienced in working with diverse groups.
Total peace of mind: With our "pay after" policy and backup artist guarantee, your event is in safe hands.
Community focused: We love working with Biel schools, care homes, and support groups to foster local connections.

Step by step

Initial consultation: Contact us to discuss the specific needs, group size, and abilities of your participants so we can tailor the Biel session perfectly.
Site selection: We choose an accessible location in Biel, such as a legal street art wall or a private space, ensuring it meets all mobility requirements.
Safety briefing: Upon arrival, our friendly artists introduce the gear, including masks and suits, in a calm and reassuring manner.
Shake and rattle: Participants get to know the tools, learning how to shake the cans and hear the mixing balls—a great sensory start.
Technique demo: Our artists demonstrate simple spray techniques, showing how to make dots, lines, and fills with ease.
Creative practice: Everyone gets their own space to experiment with colours and shapes, letting their imagination lead the way.
Group masterpiece: We work together on a collective mural, where every participant contributes a unique element to a shared piece of art.
Photos and celebration: We capture the final artwork with photos, giving everyone a chance to celebrate their creative achievement.
Easy wrap-up: No stress about cleaning—we handle the pack-down while you take home the memories (and maybe some photos!).

Local culture

Biel—or Bienne, if you prefer the French twist—is a city that prides itself on its unique dual-language identity and its industrial, creative spirit. Just as the city seamlessly blends Swiss-German and French influences, our workshops blend different styles of expression to suit every individual. Biel has a growing reputation for supporting local arts, and its urban landscape provides the perfect backdrop for social projects. From the creative vibes near the Coupole (Chessu) to the modern energy of the town centre, the city’s atmosphere is one of openness and innovation. By bringing our special needs graffiti program here, we’re tapping into that local tradition of inclusivity. We love how the Biel energy encourages people to be themselves, making it the ideal Swiss location for a workshop that celebrates diversity and artistic freedom.
