Is this graffiti workshop really suitable for individuals with special needs?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, we believe art is for everyone. In Clementi, our instructors are trained to work with individuals of all abilities, including those with physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges. We adapt our teaching style, provide ergonomic spray tools if needed, and ensure the workspace is fully accessible. Our primary goal is to provide a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment where everyone can express themselves freely through street art.

What safety measures do you have in place during the workshop?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and aprons. Our graffiti paint is low-odour and we always choose well-ventilated locations or outdoor spots in Clementi. Our professional artists provide constant supervision and guidance, ensuring that every participant uses the equipment correctly and safely while having the time of their lives making art.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard special needs graffiti session in Clementi typically lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This provides ample time for an introduction, practicing basic techniques on plastic foil, and then creating a final masterpiece on a canvas or wall. We are very flexible with the timing; if the group needs a slower pace or more frequent breaks, we happily adjust the schedule to suit their needs.

Where in Clementi do these workshops take place?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is that we are mobile! We can host the workshop at a vibrant local spot in Clementi, or we can come directly to your facility, school, or community centre. If we come to you, we set up professional mobile plastic walls to protect your property, ensuring a mess-free experience while still providing that authentic street art feel.

Do participants need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our friendly artists will guide your group through every step, from holding the can to creating cool effects like drips and fades. We focus on the process and the fun rather than technical perfection. You'll be amazed at the incredible artwork the participants can create with just a little bit of guidance and a lot of imagination.

What should participants wear to the graffiti session?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on. While we provide protective aprons and gear, graffiti can sometimes be a bit messy when the creativity starts flowing! Other than that, just bring your enthusiasm and an open mind. We provide all the professional spray cans, caps, safety equipment, and canvases.

How much does a special needs graffiti workshop cost?

Our pricing in Clementi is transparent and flexible, generally ranging from S$45 to S$100 per person. The final cost depends on the size of your group, the duration of the workshop, and the specific materials requested. We don't require any upfront payment—you only pay after the workshop is completed and everyone is happy. Reach out for a custom quote today!

The experience

Why choose graffiti for a special needs program in Clementi? Unlike traditional art, street art is physical, sensory, and famously "imperfect," which removes the pressure to be precise and focuses entirely on the joy of creation. 💪

Sensory Engagement: The sound of the can, the feel of the spray, and the vibrant colours provide a fantastic sensory experience.
Fine Motor Development: Handling the spray cans and caps helps in developing hand-eye coordination and finger strength.
Confidence Building: Seeing a large-scale piece of art come to life creates an incredible sense of achievement and pride. 🏆
Inclusive Atmosphere: Our workshops are a "judgement-free zone" where every stroke of paint is celebrated.
Professional Guidance: Our artists are not just masters of the can; they are patient, kind, and experts at adapting to different needs.
Total Flexibility: We can bring the workshop to you in Clementi, ensuring a comfortable and familiar environment for all participants.

Step by step

Warm welcome and intro: We start with a friendly meet-and-greet where our artists introduce the world of street art and show some inspiring examples.
Gear up for safety: We help everyone put on their protective aprons, gloves, and masks. Safety first, style second!
Learning the basics: We demonstrate how to hold the spray can and control the pressure to make different types of lines.
Practice on the 'foil' wall: Everyone gets to practice their first sprays on a dedicated plastic practice wall to get the feel of the paint.
Design your masterpiece: Our artists help participants sketch out their ideas or choose a cool theme for the final piece.
Adding the vibrant colours: This is the best part! Participants start filling in their designs with a huge variety of bright spray colours.
Final touches and outlines: We assist in adding those sharp outlines and highlights that make the graffiti art really 'pop'.
Photo session and cleanup: We celebrate the achievements with a group photo in front of the art and take care of all the cleaning up.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Clementi is a hub of education and community spirit, and we love bringing our spray cans to this lively neighbourhood. From the student buzz around NUS to the family vibes at Clementi Mall, there is an underlying creative energy here that fits perfectly with the raw, honest nature of graffiti. We often host our sessions in accessible community spaces or right at your facility, ensuring that the local Clementi spirit is woven into every mural we create.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Clementi was named after Sir Cecil Clementi Smith, a former Governor of the Straits Settlements? While the area is known for its heritage, we are here to add a modern, colourful twist to its story! 🎨

Beyond Clementi, we also offer these inclusive experiences in Singapore City, Jurong East, Tampines, and Woodlands. No matter where you are in the 'Red Dot', Graffitifun is ready to spray!
