Is the spray paint safe for secondary school students?

Safety is our number one priority! We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep students clean and safe. Our aerosol paints are low-odour and we always conduct sessions in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially designed studios. Our instructors are professional artists trained in site safety management, ensuring a controlled environment where students can focus entirely on their creative expression without any risks.

Do students need prior art experience to participate?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. We start with the absolute basics—how to hold the can, pressure control, and simple line work. Most students are amazed at what they can produce by the end of the session. Our Clementi artists provide step-by-step guidance, ensuring even those who think they aren't 'artsy' walk away with a masterpiece they are proud of.

Can you hold the workshop on our school campus?

We are incredibly flexible! We can host the workshop right on your school grounds in Clementi if you have a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated hall. Alternatively, we can arrange for the session to take place at one of our professional street art zones in Singapore. We handle all the logistics, including floor protection and hoarding, so your school facilities remain pristine.

How long does a typical graffiti workshop session last?

A standard secondary school workshop usually runs between 2 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for an introduction to street art history, a safety briefing, technique practice, and the final creation of a large-scale mural or individual canvases. We can also adapt the timing to fit into your specific school timetable or CCA blocks if required.

Can we choose a specific theme for our mural?

Absolutely! We love it when schools have a specific theme, such as 'Social Responsibility,' 'School Spirit,' or 'Future Aspirations.' Our artists can help students brainstorm and sketch designs that align with your educational goals or specific curriculum topics. It’s a fantastic way to combine character development and citizenship education (CCE) with hands-on technical art skills.

How does the payment process work for schools?

In the spirit of 'no stress' creativity, we don't require any upfront payment to secure your booking. You can settle the payment after the workshop is completed and everyone is happy with the results. We accept various payment methods suitable for school financial departments, including e-invoicing through Vendors@Gov, making the administrative process as smooth as possible for teachers.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your Clementi secondary school? It’s more than just fun—it’s a powerful educational tool that resonates with the TikTok generation. ✨

Boosts Creative Confidence: There are no "mistakes" in graffiti, only "style." This helps shy students find their voice. 🎤
Teamwork in Action: Large-scale murals require coordination and communication, teaching students to work towards a common goal. 🤝
Physical & Mental Engagement: Moving while painting keeps students active and focused in a way that desk-work cannot. 💪
Safe & Professional Environment: We teach the difference between illegal vandalism and professional street art, promoting respect for public spaces. 🏛️
Zero Stress for Teachers: We provide all the gear, do the setup, and handle the cleanup. You just sit back and watch them shine! 🏆
Memorable Outcomes: Students take home their own artwork or leave behind a stunning mural that brightens up the school campus.

Step by step

Intro & Street Art History: We kick things off with an engaging talk about the evolution of graffiti from underground tagging to respected contemporary street art.
Safety First: Students get geared up in protective suits, masks, and gloves while learning the essential 'dos and don'ts' of aerosol art.
Can Control 101: Our artists demonstrate how different nozzles (caps) work and how distance and speed affect the spray lines.
The Sketching Phase: Students grab markers and paper to plan their 'tags' or 'pieces,' focusing on letter structure and composition.
Outline Practice: Moving to the 'wall,' students practice their first lines, learning to use their whole body for smooth, sweeping movements.
Fill-ins & Gradients: This is where the magic happens! We teach the kids how to blend colours and create vibrant 3D effects within their letters.
The 'Power-Line': We show them how to add a final bold outline and highlights to make their artwork pop off the surface.
Group Mural Assembly: If it's a team project, students work together to connect their individual styles into one cohesive masterpiece.
Review & Clean-up: We wrap up with a gallery walk-through and a quick debrief before packing up all materials, leaving the site spotless.

Local culture

Clementi is often known as the 'Education Hub' of the West, but there is a hidden creative pulse beneath its academic reputation. From the iconic 'old-school' vibes of the West Coast road to the modern student hangouts near the MRT, Clementi is a melting pot of tradition and youth culture. While Singapore has strict rules about street art, we provide a safe, legal, and professional outlet for this energy. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Clementi was named after Sir Cecil Clementi Smith, a former Governor of the Straits Settlements? While he might have been a man of tradition, he would surely be amazed to see the vibrant urban art now inspiring the next generation in this historic town!

Our workshops respect the local landscape while pushing the boundaries of what 'art class' can be. We often draw inspiration from the nearby rail corridor aesthetics, blending nature with urban grit to give students a uniquely Singaporean street art experience.

Pricing

We believe in transparent and fair pricing for educational institutions. Our workshop rates are designed to be inclusive, ensuring as many students as possible can experience the joy of urban art.

Standard Workshop: S$45 - S$100 per student

*Note: Final pricing depends on total student numbers, duration, and whether we provide custom canvases for each student to take home. We are happy to work within your department's budget!
