Is it safe for primary school students to use spray paint?

Safety is our number one priority! We use low-odour, water-based spray paints whenever possible for younger students. Every child is provided with a high-quality mask, gloves, and a protective poncho to keep their school uniforms clean. Our professional instructors provide a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can, ensuring a controlled and secure environment for everyone to have fun. 🛡️

Do the students need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our primary school workshops are designed specifically for beginners. We start with the absolute basics, like how to hold the can and control the pressure. Our artists are great with kids and guide them through every step of the process. By the end of the session, even students who claim they 'can’t draw' will be amazed at the masterpiece they've helped create. 🎨

Where do the workshops take place?

We are fully mobile and usually come to your school premises in Clementi! We can set up on the school field, in a well-ventilated basketball court, or any outdoor sheltered area. We bring all the necessary protective flooring and coverings to ensure we leave the space exactly as we found it—just with a lot of happy students and maybe some cool new canvases! 🏫

How long does a typical workshop session last?

Standard workshops for primary schools typically last between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the completion of a final group or individual project. We can also adapt the timing to fit into your specific school timetable or CCA blocks if needed. ⏱️

What is the ideal group size for a school workshop?

We recommend a minimum of 10 students to get a good atmosphere going, but we can handle much larger groups too! For very large cohorts, we bring in extra artists to maintain a safe student-to-instructor ratio. Whether it's a single class or an entire primary 6 graduating level, we have the resources and backup artists to make it happen smoothly. 👥

Can the students keep their artwork after the workshop?

The students definitely get to keep their work! Depending on the package you choose, students can work on individual canvases to take home, or they can collaborate on large wooden panels that the school can display in the hallways or canteen. It's a fantastic way to brighten up the school environment and give the kids a lasting sense of pride. 🏆

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

We’ve got you covered. Since we often work outdoors or in semi-sheltered areas, we always monitor the weather. If it looks like rain, we can usually move to a more sheltered void deck or indoor court area, provided there is enough ventilation. We also have backup artists and flexible scheduling to ensure your school event goes ahead without a hitch! 🌦️

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your primary school in Clementi? It’s more than just "vandalism" (the legal kind!)—it’s a powerful educational tool that resonates with kids in a way traditional art often doesn't. 🎨

Boosts creative confidence: Even kids who struggle with fine motor skills find success with the broad strokes of spray painting. 💪
Encourages team building: Working on a large-scale mural teaches students how to collaborate and communicate effectively. 🤝
Stress relief & expression: In a high-pressure academic environment, street art offers a healthy, physical outlet for emotions. 🎤
100% Satisfaction: We’ve never seen a bored kid at our workshops—the "wow" factor is guaranteed. 🎉
No-risk booking: With no upfront payment and backup artists ready to go, your school event is in safe hands. 🏆

Step by step

Introduction & safety briefing: We kick things off with an energetic intro to street art culture and a vital safety talk about how to use our gear properly. ✨
Mastering the can: Students learn 'can control'—how to hold the spray can, adjust finger pressure, and understand the distance from the canvas.
Lines and shapes: We practice the basics! From thin lines to thick fills, kids get a feel for how the paint behaves on a vertical surface.
Sketching the design: Using chalk or light paint, students sketch out their letters or characters, learning about scale and composition. ✍️
The fill-in: This is the messy, fun part! Students choose their vibrant colours and fill in their designs, learning how to blend shades.
Outlining & highlights: We teach the "pop" factor—adding sharp outlines and white highlights to make the artwork stand out.
Final touches & tags: Every artist needs a signature! Students create their own 'tag' to finish off their masterpiece.
Group photo & cleanup: We celebrate the creativity with a big group photo before our team handles the entire cleanup process. 📸

Local culture

Clementi is a hub of education and energy, and we love bringing our workshops to this vibrant "Education Town." Whether your school is tucked near the bustling Clementi Mall or closer to the quiet greenery of West Coast Park, we bring the street art vibe right to your doorstep. We know Clementi kids are full of "kiasu" spirit when it comes to learning new skills, and graffiti is the perfect outlet for that competitive and creative drive!

Fun Fact: Did you know Clementi was named after Sir Cecil Clementi Smith, a former Governor of the Straits Settlements? While the area has a rich history, we’re here to help the new generation add their own colourful chapter to the local culture. 🎨
