Is the graffiti workshop safe for individuals with physical disabilities?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks and gloves. For our special needs programs, we use low-odor spray paint options whenever possible and ensure the environment is well-ventilated. Our professional artists are trained to supervise every movement, ensuring that everyone stays safe while having the time of their lives with a spray can in hand.

How do you adapt the program for participants with cognitive challenges?

Our workshops are designed to be inclusive and adaptable. We focus on sensory play, color recognition, and the tactile experience of using spray cans. Our artists are patient and skilled at adjusting their teaching style to match the cognitive and emotional needs of every participant. We create a low-pressure, high-reward environment where every splash of color is celebrated as a major success!

What should participants wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on! While we provide protective ponchos and gloves, graffiti is a messy, splashy art form. Think of it as a badge of honor—a little paint on your sneakers just means you had an incredible day creating street art in the heart of San Francisco.

Does the workshop have to take place at your studio?

We offer total flexibility. We can host your group at one of our vibrant, accessible partner locations in San Francisco, or we can bring the entire mobile studio to you! Whether it's a community center, a school gym, or a flat paved outdoor area, we’ll set up the canvases and plastic protection so you can create art right where you feel most comfortable.

How long does a session usually last?

A typical special needs experience lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining high energy and focus without causing fatigue. However, we are happy to adjust the timing based on your group's specific stamina and attention needs. We move at your pace, never rushing the creative process.

How do I book a session and when do I pay?

Booking is easy and stress-free! You don't have to pay anything upfront. Simply use our online cost calculator or contact us for a custom quote. Once we've tailored the program to your specific needs and group size, we'll lock in the date. You pay only after the workshop is complete and everyone is smiling. Ready to start?

The experience

Why choose our graffiti program for your special needs group in San Francisco? Because we focus on what's possible, not what's restricted. Graffiti is a tactile, visual, and highly rewarding way to build confidence and coordination.

Sensory-friendly: The vibration of the spray can and the visual pop of color provide incredible sensory feedback. 🌈
Zero judgment: There are no mistakes in graffiti—only new directions for your art!
Skill building: Helps improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination in a fun, relaxed way. 💪
Expert artists: Our team isn't just talented; they are patient, encouraging, and experienced in adaptive teaching.
Total accessibility: We ensure our setups work for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. 🏆
No-stress booking: No deposit needed, and we have backup artists ready so your event never gets canceled.

Step by step

Arrival and warm welcome: We greet the group with high energy and introduce our friendly professional artists who will be your guides for the day.
Gear up for fun: Everyone gets fitted with protective gear, including gloves and masks, making sure everyone feels comfortable and ready to paint.
The 'paints-on' intro: We demonstrate how the spray cans work, focusing on hand positioning and the satisfying 'shhh' sound of the paint.
Sketching the vision: Participants help pick colors and basic shapes, or we can provide pre-drawn outlines to help guide the creative flow.
Color explosion: The best part! Participants start filling in the art, learning how to layer colors and create cool textures on the canvas.
Adding the details: Our artists assist with adding 'flair'—the little dots and lines that make graffiti pop—ensuring every piece looks like a masterpiece.
The big reveal: We take a group photo with the finished artwork, celebrating the unique contribution of every single participant.
Clean up and cheers: We handle all the messy cleanup, leaving you only with the amazing memories (and your awesome artwork).
