Do I need any prior drawing or painting experience to join?

Absolutely! Our street art festival experiences in Krasnoyarsk are designed for everyone, from those who can't draw a stick figure to seasoned creatives. Our professional artists guide you through every step, starting with basic lines and shapes. We provide all the specialized gear and low-pressure instruction needed to ensure you walk away feeling like a pro artist. It’s all about the fun and the process!

Is the workshop safe, and do you provide protective gear?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and professional-grade masks (respirators) to ensure no one inhales fumes or gets paint on their clothes. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor festival spaces or large industrial halls. Additionally, we only use premium spray paints that meet modern safety standards, making it a safe environment for adults and children alike.

How long does a typical festival workshop session last?

A standard festival workshop session usually lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of a large-scale collaborative mural or individual canvases. We find this is the 'sweet spot' where energy remains high and everyone stays fully engaged with the creative process.

What is the minimum or maximum group size allowed?

We are very flexible! While we love hosting large groups of 50 or more at festivals, we can also cater to smaller, more intimate groups. For festival environments, we often run 'rolling workshops' where people can drop in throughout the day. If you are booking a private group session within the festival framework, just let us know your numbers and we will scale the artist team accordingly.

What happens if it rains or an artist can't make it?

Weather in Siberia can be unpredictable, but we’ve got it covered. If the festival is outdoors and rain is forecast, we usually set up under large gazebos or stretch tents. We also have access to various indoor industrial spaces across Krasnoyarsk as backup venues. We also have a 'backup artist' policy, ensuring that even if an instructor is unwell, your creative experience goes ahead exactly as planned.

Do I need to pay in advance to secure a booking?

We believe in shared trust. For most of our festival sessions and group bookings in Krasnoyarsk, we do not require any payment upfront. You can book your slot, show up, enjoy the full creative experience, and settle the payment after the workshop is completed. This ensures you are 100% satisfied with the service and the fun you've had before any money changes hands.

What kind of graffiti styles will we learn during the festival?

Krasnoyarsk is a hub for bold, industrial-inspired street art, and we bring that local energy to our sessions. While we can teach many styles, our local artists often focus on 'Wildstyle' lettering, 3D effects, and character design. We encourage participants to draw inspiration from the Yenisei River landscapes or the city's unique blend of historic and modern architecture when planning their festival murals.

Step by step

Intro and safety brief: We kick things off with a quick chat about the history of street art and a vital safety briefing on how to use our professional respirators and spray cans correctly. ✨
Mastering the nozzle: You'll learn the 'caps'—different nozzles that create thin lines, fat sprays, or soft fades. It's all about finger pressure and distance from the wall!
Sketching the vision: Grab a marker or a can and start sketching the skeleton of your design. Our artists will help you with proportions and layout on the festival wall.
Filling and fading: This is where the colour comes in! We'll show you how to fill large areas quickly and how to create smooth gradients (fades) between different shades. 🎨
Outlining for impact: Learn the 'cut-back' technique to sharpen your edges and make your piece pop with a crisp, contrasting outline.
Adding the 3D depth: We’ll teach you how to add shadows and 3D blocks to your letters, giving your artwork a sense of volume and professional flair. 🔥
Highlights and 'flares': The finishing touches! Add those white 'shines' and dot patterns that make a piece look polished and vibrant under the festival lights.
The big reveal: Step back, drop the cans, and admire the massive collective mural you've helped create. It's time for the ultimate group photo! 📸

Local culture

Krasnoyarsk has a unique relationship with urban art. Set against the dramatic scenery of the Stolby Nature Sanctuary and the powerful flow of the Yenisei River, the city’s concrete landscapes are increasingly becoming canvases for world-class murals. The local street art scene is known for its resilience and bold, large-scale projects that reflect the "Siberian soul"—unyielding, colourful, and deeply imaginative. Our festival workshops tap into this local spirit, often taking place in repurposed industrial zones that have been transformed into cultural hubs. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Krasnoyarsk is home to some of the highest street art murals in Siberia? Local artists are famous for braving extreme temperatures to turn massive apartment blocks into towering works of art! ❄️🔥
