Step by step

  1. Intro & inspiration: Meet your pro artist and look at some epic street art styles to get your creative juices flowing.
  2. Gear up: Get fitted with your mask, gloves, and protective gear – looking like a pro is half the battle!
  3. Master the can: Learn "can control"—how to hold the spray can, adjust your pressure, and swap caps for different line widths.
  4. Practice strokes: Head to the practice wall to try out your tag, dots, and basic lines before moving to the main piece.
  5. Sketching your vision: Map out your design on the final surface using light colours to ensure your proportions are spot on.
  6. Filling in: It’s time for colour! Learn how to fill large areas smoothly and create vibrant gradients.
  7. The outline: Use high-contrast colours to give your art that sharp, professional "pop" that makes graffiti stand out.
  8. Final flares: Add highlights, "glints", and 3D shadows to give your public art piece depth and character.
  9. The big reveal: Step back, snap some photos for the 'gram, and admire your hard work with the rest of the crew!

Local culture

Street art in Kimbe

Kimbe is famous for its world-class diving and breathtaking volcanic scenery, but the urban heartbeat of the town is becoming increasingly vibrant. We love bringing our workshops to this part of PNG because the local culture is already so rich with traditional pattern-making and storytelling. By blending traditional influences with modern street art techniques, we create a fusion that’s truly unique to Kimbe. You might find us setting up near the busy markets or within view of the iconic palms that line the bay.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the corals in Kimbe Bay are some of the most diverse on Earth? We often encourage our workshop participants to take inspiration from the bright neon colours of the local sea life when picking their paint palettes!
