Why choose us in Valencia?

Why choose a graffiti experience for your students? It’s more than just painting on walls—it’s a gateway to self-expression and community engagement. Here’s why schools in Valencia love working with us:

  • 🔥 Instant engagement: Even the most 'checked-out' students find themselves hooked by the spray can.
  • 🎨 Professional mentors: Learn directly from active street artists with real-world experience.
  • 💪 Confidence boost: Seeing a large-scale piece come to life builds incredible pride and self-esteem.
  • 🤝 Teamwork: Collaborative murals require communication and shared vision to succeed.
  • 🎤 Cultural context: We explain the history of street art, from New York subways to Valencia’s plazas.
  • 🏆 Guaranteed fun: We’ve never had a boring session—the energy stays high from start to finish!

How it works

  1. Initial briefing: We start with a high-energy intro, covering the history of graffiti and the 'rules' of the street.
  2. Safety first: Every student gets kitted out with professional masks and gloves while we explain how to use the equipment safely.
  3. Mastering the can: We head to the 'practice wall' to learn essential techniques like outlines, fades, and dots.
  4. Sketching the vision: Students brainstorm their designs, focusing on typography, 3D effects, and character work.
  5. The big outline: It’s time to hit the main surface! Students map out their vision using light 'sketch' cans.
  6. Colour explosion: This is where it gets vibrant. We guide the group through filling and blending their chosen colours.
  7. Adding the details: Using precision nozzles, we teach students how to add highlights and sharp outlines to make their art pop.
  8. The final reveal: The group steps back to admire their collective or individual work—perfect for a class photo!

Frequently asked questions

Is the workshop safe for secondary school students?

Safety is our top priority for every school session in Valencia. We provide high-quality, professional-grade masks and protective gloves for every student to ensure a clean and safe environment. Our artists are experienced in managing groups of secondary school pupils, maintaining a supervised and orderly atmosphere. We use low-pressure spray cans which are easier for beginners to control, making the experience both safe and enjoyable.

Do students need to have prior art skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Our professional graffiti artists start with the basics, teaching students how to hold a can and create simple lines before moving on to more complex techniques. We find that students who don't consider themselves 'artistic' often thrive the most in this medium because it's so different from traditional classroom drawing or painting. Everyone leaves with something they are proud of.

Do you teach the difference between street art and vandalism?

Absolutely. While we love the raw energy of street art, we also take the opportunity to teach students about the difference between legal street art and illegal vandalism. We discuss the history of the movement and how professional artists work with communities to revitalise urban spaces. It’s a great way to encourage civic responsibility while still letting them explore a 'rebellious' and exciting art form in a constructive way.

How long does a typical workshop last?

A standard secondary school workshop in Valencia typically lasts around 2 hours. This provides enough time for an introduction, technique practice, and the completion of a final masterpiece. However, we can easily adapt the timing to fit into your school's specific timetable, whether that’s a shorter 90-minute taster or an intensive half-day creative workshop. Just let us know your schedule requirements when booking.

What should students wear to the session?

We recommend that students wear 'old' clothes that they don't mind getting a bit of paint on. While we provide protective overalls or aprons, spray paint is permanent and can occasionally find its way onto sleeves or shoes. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are also a must. It’s all part of the authentic artist experience—getting a little bit messy is half the fun when you're creating a masterpiece!

Where in Valencia do the workshops take place?

We are very flexible! We can bring the workshop directly to your school grounds in Valencia if you have a suitable outdoor area or a well-ventilated indoor space. Alternatively, we can arrange for the session to take place at one of our dedicated street art locations or legal walls in the city. This gives students the chance to experience the art form in its natural urban environment.

Can the students keep what they create?

We offer a variety of options. Students can work together on large, collaborative murals which are fantastic for team building and can even be displayed in the school hallways afterwards. Alternatively, we can provide individual canvases or boards so every student has their own unique piece of art to take home. We can even theme the session around school values or specific curriculum topics!
