Why choose us in Sligo?

Art shouldn't just be about sitting still. Here’s why Sligo schools are choosing our workshops to spice up the curriculum:

Boosts Confidence: Seeing a 2-metre tall mural they helped create gives students a massive sense of achievement. 💪
Total Inclusion: Graffiti doesn't care about your grades; it's a level playing field where every student can shine.
Curriculum Links: Perfect for TY modules, Art & Design portfolios, or even exploring social justice themes. 🎤
Stress Relief: There's something incredibly therapeutic about the 'hiss' of a spray can and the freedom of large-scale movement.
Professional Guidance: Learn from real working artists who are passionate about sharing their craft with the next generation. 🔥
Zero Hassle: We bring the gear, we set it up, and we lead the show—you just provide the space and the students!

How it works

Intro & inspiration: We start with a high-energy look at the history of street art and how it evolved from New York subways to Sligo's streets.
The 'Tag' creation: Every student learns to design their own unique signature, focusing on flow and letter structure.
Safety first: Our artists demonstrate how to use the cans properly, including nozzle control and the importance of protective gear.
Practice lines: Students head to the 'practice zone' to get a feel for the pressure and distance needed for clean lines.
Colour blending: We teach the secrets of fades, shines, and 3D effects to make the artwork pop off the surface.
The big masterpiece: The class works together or in small groups to create a large-scale mural based on a school theme or their own imagination.
The finishing touches: Adding outlines and 'force fields' to make the piece look professional and polished.
Group photo: We celebrate the hard work with photos of the students alongside their finished street art creation!

Frequently asked questions

Is the spray paint safe for school students to use?

Absolutely! We use high-quality water-based spray paint for our Sligo school workshops which is low-odour and much friendlier for younger artists. We also provide full protective gear, including suits, gloves, and masks. Our professional artists lead a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a can, ensuring a controlled, creative, and completely safe environment for every student involved.

Where in Sligo do the school workshops take place?

We are very flexible! We can host the workshop directly at your school grounds in Sligo if you have a suitable outdoor wall or open space. Alternatively, we can arrange for mobile wooden panels or even indoor-safe canvases if the Irish weather isn't cooperating. If you'd prefer to get away from the school gates, we can often suggest local creative spaces to host your group.

What age group is this workshop suitable for?

Our workshops are designed to be inclusive for everyone from primary school right up to Leaving Cert students. We tailor our teaching style and the complexity of the designs to match the age and skill level of the group. Generally, we recommend a minimum age of 8 or 9 to ensure they have the physical grip strength to operate the spray cans effectively.

How long does a typical school session last?

A standard Sligo school workshop usually lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a proper introduction, a safety demo, practice sessions, and the creation of a final masterpiece. We can easily adjust the duration to fit into a double-period slot or make it a full-day transition year experience depending on your curriculum needs.

Do the students need any prior artistic experience?

Not at all! One of the best things about graffiti is that it's a great equaliser. Our artists are experts at guiding students who 'can't draw a stick figure' to create something they are genuinely proud of. We focus on technique, letter structure, and colour blending. Most students are shocked at the professional-looking results they achieve by the end of the session.

What happens if we need to cancel or change our booking?

We understand that school budgets and schedules can be tricky. That’s why we offer a 'no upfront payment' policy—you only pay after the workshop is successfully completed. We also have a reliable pool of backup artists available, so even if an instructor is ill, your Sligo school event won't be cancelled. Fun and reliability are our top priorities for your peace of mind.
