Step by step
- Design brainstorming: We kick things off by sketching ideas on paper, exploring different lettering styles and cool characters.
- Safety & gear setup: Every camper gets kitted out with professional masks, gloves, and overalls to stay safe and clean.
- Can control basics: Our artists teach the fundamentals of holding the spray can, adjusting pressure, and mastering nozzle techniques.
- Outline techniques: Kids learn how to transfer their paper sketches onto a larger scale using 'ghost lines' and bold outlines.
- Colour Theory & Fills: We dive into the world of colour, teaching campers how to choose vibrant palettes and fill in their designs evenly.
- Shading & Highlights: This is where the magic happens! We show them how to add 3D effects, shadows, and 'shines' to make the art pop.
- The 'Power-Line': Adding the final sharp outline to clean up the edges and give the graffiti that professional, polished look.
- Stencilling fun: We introduce stencil art techniques for adding intricate details and logos to the final masterpiece.
- Final exhibition: We finish the camp with a 'gallery walk' where everyone shows off their work and celebrates their new skills!

Local culture
Street art in Sligo
Sligo has always been a hub for creativity, famously inspiring the poetry of W.B. Yeats. Today, that same spirit is alive in the vibrant street art popping up around the town. From the murals near the Garavogue River to the hidden gems in the cultural quarters, Sligo provides the perfect atmosphere for a graffiti summer camp. We draw inspiration from the rugged beauty of Benbulben and the local surf culture, encouraging our campers to incorporate Sligo’s unique landscape into their urban designs. ✨
