Why choose us in Cape Town?
Why settle for a postcard when you can create a piece of the city yourself? Our graffiti experience is one of the most highly-rated creative activities in South Africa for several reasons:
- 🔥 Authentic Local Vibe: Learn from real Cape Town artists who are active in the local street art scene.
- 🎨 The ultimate Souvenir: Create your own canvas to take home—it’s the best way to remember your Cape Town holiday.
- 📍 Prime Location: Our workshops are based in Woodstock, the epicentre of African street art.
- 🛡️ Zero Stress: We handle all the setup and cleanup. You just bring your creativity!
- 📸 Insta-Worthy: Capture incredible photos of yourself in action against iconic Cape Town backdrops.
- 💪 No Experience Needed: We believe everyone is an artist; we’ll help you find your style in minutes.
How it works
- Warm welcome and intro: Meet your local graffiti guide at our vibrant Woodstock location. We’ll kick things off with a brief history of Cape Town’s unique street art scene.
- Safety first: Get geared up in our protective overalls, masks, and gloves. We’ll show you how to handle the cans like a pro.
- The basics of spray: Learn the 'can-control' basics. Your artist will teach you about distance, pressure, and nozzle types to get those crisp lines.
- Sketching your vibe: Grab a marker and sketch your design idea on paper or directly onto your practice surface. Don't worry, we're here to help with the layout!
- First layers: Start filling in the background of your piece. Here’s where you get to play with the incredible range of colours we provide.
- Outline and detail: Time for the tricky part! Trace your piece with a sharp outline to make it 'pop' off the wall or canvas.
- The 'pantry' of effects: Add bubbles, shines, and highlights. These small details are what turn a 'tag' into a piece of art.
- Final reveal and photos: Step back and admire your work! We’ll take professional-style photos of you and your creation against the Cape Town skyline.

I have zero artistic talent, can I still join?
Absolutely! Our workshops are specifically designed for beginners. Most of our guests have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists will guide you through the process step-by-step, from holding the can correctly to mastering your first 'tag'. It's all about having fun and being creative in a relaxed, supportive environment. You will be amazed at what you can create by the end of the session!
Is the spray paint safe to use?
Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls to keep you and your clothes safe. We use high-end spray paint that is easier to control, and our workshops take place in well-ventilated outdoor or semi-outdoor locations. Our instructors are experienced professionals who ensure everyone follows safety protocols while having a blast. Just wear some 'work' shoes you don't mind getting a little dusty!
How long does the graffiti workshop last?
Usually, our tourist workshops in Cape Town last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This gives us enough time for a thorough introduction, some practice runs on the practice wall, and then the final creation of your masterpiece on a canvas or shared wall. It’s the perfect length to fit into a busy day of sightseeing without feeling rushed. We want you to enjoy every spray!
What happens if it rains on the day?
The Mother City's weather can be unpredictable! If it rains, we try to move to one of our covered outdoor locations. If the weather is really 'kaap de goed' (bad), we can reschedule your session for another time during your stay or move to an indoor studio space. We always have a backup plan to ensure your creative experience isn't washed away by a South Easterly storm.
Can I take my artwork home with me?
One of the best parts is that you get to take your creation home! If we work on canvases, you can pack your art into your suitcase (once dry) as the ultimate local souvenir. If we work on a collective wall, you’ll get high-quality digital photos of your work to share on social media. It beats a generic fridge magnet any day!
Do I need to book far in advance?
We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance, especially during the peak summer season in Cape Town (December to March). However, we have a large team of artists and can often accommodate last-minute bookings. If you've got a sudden creative urge while strolling through Woodstock, give us a shout and we will see if we can squeeze you in!
