Is the graffiti workshop safe for children and teenagers?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. We use high-quality spray paints and provide all necessary protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls. Our professional instructors in Kecskemet are experienced in working with young people and provide a comprehensive safety briefing before any cans are shaken. We ensure a controlled, supervised environment where creativity can flourish without any risks to the participants or the surrounding area.

How long does a typical after-school session last?

A standard after-school session usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This provides enough time for a brief history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, and plenty of hands-on practice. We can adjust the duration to fit your school's specific timetable or extracurricular schedule. Whether it's a quick high-energy blast or a deep-dive creative project over several weeks, we’re happy to accommodate your needs.

What equipment does the school need to provide?

We take care of almost everything! Graffitifun provides all the spray cans, caps, protective clothing, and the surfaces to paint on (usually large canvases or mobile boards). The only thing the school needs to provide is an outdoor or well-ventilated space and access to a bin. We even bring plastic sheeting to protect the ground, ensuring we leave the site exactly as we found it.

Do students need to have any previous drawing or painting experience?

No prior artistic skill is needed at all! Our workshops are designed for all levels, from total beginners to budding artists. We teach the fundamentals of 'can control,' lettering, and shading in a way that is easy to follow. Our goal is to boost confidence and show every student that they have the potential to create something visually stunning, regardless of their previous experience with a brush or pencil.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Kecskemet weather can be unpredictable, but we’ve got it covered. If the forecast looks poor, we can often move the workshop to a well-ventilated indoor area (like a gym or workshop) using low-odour water-based spray paints. Alternatively, we can reschedule the session to a better day at no extra cost. We always keep a close eye on the weather and stay in touch with you to ensure the plan works.

How many students can participate in one session?

We find that a group size of 10 to 25 students per instructor works best to ensure everyone gets personal guidance and stay safe. For larger year groups or whole-school events, we simply bring along additional professional artists from our team. We have plenty of backup artists ready to go, so we can handle groups of almost any size while maintaining a high-quality, fun experience for everyone.

Can the workshop be themed around a specific school project?

Definitely! While we love the 'freestyle' nature of graffiti, we can easily tailor the workshop to a specific theme. Whether it's a school value like 'Respect,' a historical period, or an environmental message, we can help students plan their murals around these concepts. This makes the session not just a fun activity, but a powerful educational tool that reinforces what they are learning in the classroom.

The experience

Choosing an after-school activity can be tough, but graffiti offers something truly special that traditional sports or music clubs might miss. It’s loud, it’s colourful, and it’s incredibly rewarding. Here is why schools in Kecskemet love our programme: 🔥

Boosts Confidence: Seeing a giant, vibrant piece of art they created themselves gives students a massive sense of achievement.
Teamwork in Action: Many of our murals are collaborative projects, teaching kids how to communicate and work together towards a visual goal. 🤝
Safe & Professional: We bring the "street" to the school in a controlled, educational way with expert supervision.
Zero Hassle for Teachers: We bring all the gear, set everything up, and clean it all up. You just provide the space!
Guaranteed Fun: Let's be honest—nothing beats the excitement of shaking a spray can for the first time. We focus on 100% satisfaction! 🏆
Flexible & Accessible: We adapt our teaching style to suit all ages and abilities, ensuring no one is left out of the fun.

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We start by meeting the group and explaining how to use the equipment safely while respecting the environment.
History & Culture: A quick, engaging talk about the origins of graffiti and how it evolved into the modern street art we see today.
The Tag Creator: Students get to experiment with digital ideas or sketches to decide on their personal 'tag' or nickname.
Can Control 101: Our pros demonstrate how to hold the can, swap nozzles (caps), and manage pressure for different effects.
Sketching the Mural: Participants move to the canvas to outline their big ideas using light colours and basic shapes.
Filling & Fading: This is where the magic happens! Students learn to blend colours and create those iconic graffiti gradients.
Outlining & Highlights: We teach the 'cut-back' technique to sharpen edges and add highlights that make the art pop.
The Big Reveal: A final walkthrough where students present their work to the group and take photos of their masterpieces.
Clean Up: We ensure all cans are packed away and the area is left spotless, leaving only the amazing art behind!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Kecskemet is world-famous for its stunning Art Nouveau architecture, like the Cifra Palota, but we believe there’s room for a modern creative spark too! Our workshops bring a fresh, urban energy to the "City of Bells," encouraging the next generation of residents to bridge the gap between classic Hungarian aesthetics and modern street culture. While the city celebrates its rich folk traditions, our after-school sessions allow students to express their contemporary identity. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know Kecskemet is the birthplace of the world-renowned Kodály method? Just as music is a language here, we teach graffiti as a visual language for the youth to speak their truth! 🇭🇺

From the bustling city centre to the quiet suburbs, we bring the workshop to your school gates, making Kecskemet 's streets a little more colourful, one canvas at a time.
