Do the students need any previous art experience? 🎨

Absolutely! No prior drawing or painting skills are needed. Our graffiti workshops in Nyíregyháza are designed to take beginners from 'zero to hero'. Our professional artists break down the process into easy-to-follow steps, starting with basic lines and moving on to filling and outlining. It’s all about having fun and expressing yourself, rather than creating a perfect masterpiece on day one. Everyone leaves with something they are proud of!

Is the spray paint safe for children and teens? 🛡️

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves and professional-grade face masks to filter out fumes. We also use low-pressure spray cans which are much easier for younger students to control. All workshops are supervised by experienced artists who ensure the equipment is used correctly. We recommend students wear old clothes and sneakers, as even with protection, things can get a bit messy!

How long does a typical after-school workshop last? 🕒

A standard after-school session usually lasts between 90 minutes and 2 hours. This provides enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, and the actual creative process where students work on their own pieces. We’ve found this duration is perfect for keeping energy levels high and focus sharp without the students getting tired. We can also arrange longer sessions for intensive projects if requested.

Where do the workshops take place in Nyíregyháza? 📍

We are incredibly flexible! We can bring the workshop to your school grounds if there is a suitable outdoor wall or enough space to set up our mobile canvases. Alternatively, we can host the session at one of our inspiring local street art spots in Nyíregyháza. We provide all the necessary materials regardless of the location, including the spray cans, boards, and safety equipment.

How much does an after-school graffiti workshop cost? 💰

Our pricing is tiered based on the number of participants and the specific setup required. For after-school programmes in Nyíregyháza, prices typically range from Ft8,000 to Ft18,000 per person. This fee is all-inclusive of materials, professional instruction, and safety gear. Because every group is different, we always recommend getting in touch for a custom quote to ensure you get the best value for your students.

What happens if the artist is unavailable? 🤝

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our reliability. We have a dedicated team of backup artists ready to step in if a lead instructor is unwell or unable to make it. This means your scheduled after-school activity is virtually guaranteed to go ahead. You won't have to deal with disappointed students or last-minute rescheduling headaches, making us a dependable partner for local schools and youth clubs.

What age groups are these after-school sessions for? 🧒

Our graffiti workshops are incredibly popular for teens, but we can adapt the programme for children as young as 10. For younger kids, we focus more on character design and using stencils to make the process more accessible and rewarding. For older students and teenagers, we dive deeper into complex lettering, 3D effects, and shading techniques. We always tailor the complexity of the lesson to the age group involved.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your after-school programme? It’s simple: it’s the one activity where being 'loud' and 'bold' is actually the goal! Here is why Nyíregyháza schools are choosing us:

Boosts creative confidence: Graffiti is a low-pressure way for students who might struggle with traditional art to find their flow. 🚀
Professional mentors: Our artists aren't just teachers; they are active street artists who bring real-world skills and excitement.
Stress relief: There is something incredibly therapeutic about the 'hiss' of a spray can and the physical movement of painting large-scale. ✨
Safe and legal: We provide a legitimate outlet for urban expression, teaching students the difference between art and vandalism.
No financial risk: With our 'pay afterwards' policy and backup artist guarantee, your school budget is always safe with us. 💪
Team building: Our collaborative murals require students to communicate and work together to create a unified piece of art. 🎤

Step by step

Intro & Safety: We start with a quick meet-and-greet and a vital safety briefing on how to use the equipment properly. ✨
Sketching ideas: Students grab paper and pencils to map out their tags or character designs before touching a spray can.
Can control: Our pros demonstrate how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create different line widths. 🎨
Outlining: The students step up to the canvas or wall to lay down the first "bones" of their graffiti piece.
Filling in: Here’s where the colour happens! We teach blending techniques and how to fill large areas smoothly.
Shadows & 3D: We show the group how to add depth to their letters using shadows and 3D effects. 🏆
The highlight: Adding those final white "shines" and clean outlines that make the artwork pop off the wall.
Photo op: Once the masterpieces are dry, we take group photos so everyone has a memory of their creation.
Clean up: We pack up all the gear and leave the site spotless, leaving only the awesome art behind!

Local culture

Nyíregyháza might be famous for its incredible Sóstó area and thermal baths, but the city also has a burgeoning appreciation for modern urban culture. From the bustling pathways of the city centre to the creative energy found in local community hubs, there is a clear appetite for expressive art forms. While Hungary's street art scene is often centred on Budapest, we love bringing that same "Big City" energy to the youth of Nyíregyháza, helping them find their own local voice through spray paint.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Nyíregyháza is one of the greenest cities in Hungary? We often take inspiration from the local flora and fauna of the Nyíregyháza Zoo—the most famous attraction in the region—to help kids design cool animal-themed graffiti characters! 🦒

By connecting with the local vibe, our workshops feel less like a lesson and more like a community event. We encourage students to think about what "Nyír" pride looks like to them and how they can represent their city using bold colours and sharp lines.
