The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next after-school activity? Unlike traditional art classes, street art offers a sense of scale and freedom that's hard to find anywhere else. It builds confidence and encourages teamwork in a way that truly resonates with today’s youth. Here’s why Kinshasa parents and teachers love what we do:

  • Boosts confidence: Seeing a giant, colourful mural completed in just a few hours gives kids an incredible sense of achievement.
  • Unplugged fun: It’s a great way to get kids away from screens and into the fresh air, using their hands and bodies to create.
  • Professional guidance: Our artists aren't just great painters; they are experienced mentors who know how to inspire and manage groups of children.
  • Total safety: We use high-quality protective gear and non-toxic practices, ensuring a worry-free experience for everyone.
  • No financial risk: With no upfront payment required, you only pay once you're 100% satisfied with the workshop experience.
  • Stress-free booking: From providing the paint to the final cleanup, we handle all the logistics so you don't have to.

Step by step

  1. Introduction and safety briefing: We kick things off with a warm welcome and a quick safety talk. We show the kids how to use their masks and gloves properly to stay safe while having fun.
  2. The history of spray art: Before picking up the cans, our artists share some cool stories about the origins of graffiti and how it became a worldwide art movement.
  3. Understanding the tools: We explain different types of "caps" (the nozzles) and how they change the spray width, from thin lines to fat fills.
  4. Practising basic techniques: Time to get hands-on! The kids start by spraying lines, dots, and simple shapes on a practice wall or plastic wrap to get a feel for the pressure.
  5. Sketching the design: We brainstorm a theme together. Whether it's a school name or a message of peace, the group helps sketch out the big plan.
  6. Filling and fading: This is where the colour comes in. We teach the kids how to fill in their letters and create cool "fades" or gradients between different colours.
  7. The outline and highlights: Our artists help the kids add the sharp outlines and white highlights that make their graffiti "pop" and look professional.
  8. Final touches and cleanup: We add those last artistic details, take a big group photo with the masterpiece, and ensure the area is left tidy.

Good to know

Our after-school sessions are built to be flexible and easy for organisers. A standard session usually lasts about 90 to 120 minutes, making it the perfect bridge between school and home. We accommodate groups of various sizes; whether you have a small class of 10 or a larger group of 30, we bring enough artists to ensure everyone gets individual attention. All materials are included: spray cans, caps, protective gear, and the painting surface. We take safety seriously, using professional-grade equipment and strictly following safety protocols. Plus, with our "pay after" policy and backup artists, you can book with total peace of mind, knowing your event is in expert hands.

Local culture

Street art in Kinshasa

Kinshasa is a city that pulses with rhythm and visual energy. From the bustling streets of Matonge to the artistic hubs of the city centre, "Kin" is an urban canvas like no other. Our workshops tap into this local "joie de vivre," encouraging kids to incorporate the colours and spirit of the Congo into their work. Graffiti in Kinshasa isn't just about paint; it's about telling a story and celebrating local identity. We love seeing how students blend global street art styles with local patterns and themes, creating something uniquely "Kinois." By bringing our workshops to this vibrant capital, we’re helping the next generation contribute to the city’s rich cultural tapestry in a positive, constructive, and colourful way.

Pricing

We offer competitive rates for our Kinshasa workshops to make street art accessible to as many young creators as possible. Our pricing typically ranges from FC50,000 to FC120,000 per person. The final price varies depending on the number of participants, the location, and the specific materials required for your project. We also offer special packages for schools looking for recurring weekly programmes. Because every event is unique, we’d love to chat about your specific needs.
