Is it messy, and will the kids' clothes get ruined?

Absolutely! High-quality spray paint dries almost instantly, and we provide all participants with protective overalls and gloves to keep school uniforms or casual clothes pristine. We prioritize safety and cleanliness, ensuring the only thing getting 'tagged' is the practice wall or canvas. Our instructors also supervise the distance and angle of spraying to minimize any messy overspray.

Is the spray paint safe for children to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We use low-odour, professional-grade spray paints and provide high-quality respiratory masks (FFP2/FFP3) for every participant. Our workshops in Trujillo are always held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or large open spaces. Plus, our artists are trained in safety protocols to ensure everyone has a blast without any risks to their health or wellbeing.

Do the students need to have prior artistic talent?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for everyone, from those who can barely draw a stick figure to budding Picassos. We start with the basics—how to hold the can and control the pressure—and guide them through the process step-by-step. By the end of the session, every student will have created something they are genuinely proud of!

How long does a typical after-school workshop last?

Our after-school sessions in Trujillo typically last between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a solid introduction, a sketching phase, and plenty of actual painting time. We can adjust the duration to fit your school's specific schedule or extracurricular block, ensuring a seamless experience for parents and staff alike.

What do we need to provide for the workshop?

All you need to provide is a location (like a school playground or a ventilated gym) and a group of excited students! Graffitifun brings everything else: premium spray paint in a rainbow of colours, protective gear, boards or canvases to paint on, and expert tuition. We handle the logistical heavy lifting so you can focus on the fun.

What is the minimum age for participants?

The ideal age for our after-school graffiti workshops is 8 years and older. At this age, children have the hand strength to operate the spray cans and the focus to follow the creative steps. However, we can adapt our teaching style for slightly younger groups or teenagers to ensure the content is engaging and age-appropriate for everyone involved.

The experience

Why pick a boring club when you can offer a workshop that students will actually brag about? Our graffiti sessions are the perfect antidote to traditional classroom fatigue. Here is why schools in Trujillo love working with us:

Confidence boost: Seeing a massive piece of art come to life builds incredible self-esteem in young creators. 💪
Teamwork makes the dream work: Many of our designs are collaborative, teaching students how to communicate and work together towards a common goal.
100% safe & legal: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, promoting respect for public spaces. 🛡️
Zero prep for you: We bring all the gear (paint, masks, boards) and even handle the cleanup. You just provide the kids!
Expert artists: Your students won't be taught by bored teachers, but by real, passionate graffiti artists who live and breathe this culture. 🎤
Flexible & reliable: With our backup artist policy, we never cancel. Your scheduled fun is guaranteed!

Step by step

The warm-up: We start with a high-energy intro about the history of street art and how it turned from 'vandalism' into a worldwide art phenomenon.
Design & sketch: Students grab paper and markers to map out their ideas. We help them brainstorm unique 'tags' or characters that reflect their personality.
Safety first: Before touching a can, everyone gets fitted with masks, gloves, and overalls. We go over the golden rules of spray paint safety.
Can control: Our pros demonstrate the 'nozzle dance'—teaching kids how to create thin lines, thick fills, and smooth fades by adjusting their grip and distance.
Outline & fill: The real action starts! Participants move to the boards to outline their designs and start filling them with vibrant, epic colours.
The 'cut': We teach the secret of 'cutting'—using more paint to clean up edges and make the design look sharp and professional.
Final highlights: Students add those crucial final touches like 'shines' and 3D shadows to make their artwork pop off the wall.
The reveal: A group photo with the finished masterpiece! We celebrate the hard work and unique style of every student.

Local culture

Trujillo is a city bursting with colonial charm and ancient history, but it’s also a rising hub for modern Peruvian street art. From the colourful walls of the nearby beach town Huanchaco to the sprawling murals that brighten up the city's suburban districts, there is inspiration around every corner. Our workshops pay homage to this local creative spirit, encouraging students to blend traditional Peruvian influences with modern graffiti styles. ✨

Fun fact! Trujillo is known as the "City of Everlasting Spring", which means the weather is almost always perfect for an outdoor graffiti session. No rain, just sun and spray! ☀️

Whether your school is located near the Plaza de Armas or closer to the ruins of Chan Chan, our mobile team brings the excitement directly to you. We love incorporating the local "Trujillano" vibe into our sessions, helping students feel a deeper connection to their city through the lens of urban art. 🔥
