Is the spray paint safe for children?

Safety is our number one priority! We use water-based, low-odour professional spray paint that is much safer and more pleasant than industrial paints. Every child is provided with high-quality protective gear, including gloves and masks. Our experienced artists provide a thorough safety briefing before anyone touches a canister, and they supervise every single spray to ensure a fun, hazard-free environment for all your little artists.

Will the kids' clothes get dirty?

Absolutely! We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and masks for every child. While we do our best to keep everyone clean, we always suggest that kids wear 'play clothes' and old sneakers just in case. Graffiti is an expressive art form, and sometimes a little bit of extra colour might find its way onto a sleeve! It's all part of the authentic street art experience in Kolkata.

What is the ideal age for a graffiti party?

We usually recommend our graffiti birthday parties for children aged 8 and up. This is because standard spray cans require a certain amount of hand strength and coordination to operate effectively. However, for younger siblings or groups, we can often adjust the technique or use specialized nozzles to make it easier. We adapt our teaching style to match the energy and skill level of the birthday group perfectly.

How long does a typical birthday workshop last?

The party typically lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This includes the initial safety briefing, the skill-building practice session on our training walls, a short break for some snacks, and the grand finale where they create their masterpiece. We've found this is the perfect 'sweet spot' to keep the kids fully engaged and excited without them getting tired. We can adjust the duration based on your schedule.

What do I need to provide for the workshop?

You don't need to worry about a thing! Graffitifun provides everything required for a successful party: professional spray cans in a rainbow of colours, protective gear (masks, gloves, overalls), canvases or boards for the kids to paint on, and expert instruction from local artists. All you need to provide is the venue (or we can help find one) and any snacks or cake you want for the kids.

What happens if it rains or the artist is sick?

Kolkata weather can be unpredictable, but we always have a plan! If we are scheduled for an outdoor session and it rains, we can move the workshop to a covered area or use a ventilated indoor space. We also have plenty of backup artists in our network, so if your primary instructor is unwell, we guarantee a replacement will be there. Your party will happen, rain or shine!

Can you host the party at our home in Kolkata?

While we love hosting parties at our partner street art spots in Kolkata, we can definitely come to you! If you have a backyard, a large driveway, or an open garage with good ventilation, we can set up our mobile graffiti walls right at your home. We take great care to protect your property and ensure that the only thing getting painted is the official graffiti surface!

Local culture

Kolkata has always been India’s cultural capital, and that creative spirit is spilling over from the galleries into the streets! From the iconic murals in Hatibagan to the hidden street art gems in Golf Green, the city is becoming a canvas for a new generation of urban creators. Our workshops tap into this local "Para" (neighbourhood) spirit, encouraging kids to express themselves just like the professional artists they see around town.

Fun Fact: Did you know that some of Kolkata's most famous street art can be found on North Kolkata's old walls? The city uses these murals to tell stories of its rich history and diverse culture!
