Who is this art teacher training program for?

This training is designed for a broad spectrum of educators in Kolkata! Whether you are a full-time school art teacher, a freelance workshop facilitator, a social worker using art for therapy, or a university student preparing for a teaching career, our curriculum is adaptable. We focus on teaching you how to guide others through the creative process while maintaining safety and encouraging individual expression.

What technical graffiti skills will I learn?

Kolkata’s humidity can be tricky for spray paint drying times, so we cover specific techniques for different weather conditions. You will learn about surface preparation on various textures common in the city, the chemistry of different paint brands available in India, and how to troubleshoot common issues like drips or nozzle clogs in real-time while managing a classroom of students.

Is the workshop safe for me and my future students?

Safety is our utmost priority. The training includes a comprehensive module on health and safety protocols. You will learn about the correct usage of FFP3 respirators, the importance of cross-ventilation, skin protection, and environmental responsibilities. We also teach you how to manage a group of students safely, ensuring everyone follows the rules while still having an absolute blast painting.

Do I need prior experience with spray cans?

While many professional development courses focus only on theory, our Kolkata sessions are 80% hands-on. You will be using the spray cans from the very first hour. We believe the best way to teach art is to understand the physical 'flow' of the medium yourself. By the end of the program, you’ll have the confidence to demonstrate techniques live in front of a class.

Will I receive materials to help me teach my own classes?

Absolutely. We provide a toolkit of lesson plans that are scalable for different age groups. Whether you are teaching primary school kids in Salt Lake or teenagers in South Kolkata, you’ll leave with a structured curriculum. This includes warm-up exercises, 'tagging' basics, letter formation theory, and collaborative mural planning techniques that you can implement the very next day.

How does the payment process work?

No, you don't need to pay anything upfront when you book. We believe in the quality of our training and the talent of our artists. You only pay after the workshop concludes. This ensures 100% satisfaction and gives you peace of mind that you're getting exactly what you signed up for—a high-energy, professional growth experience.

What happens if the trainer is unavailable on the day?

We have a deep roster of professional graffiti artists and facilitators. In the rare event that your primary trainer is unavailable, we have backup artists ready to step in. Your professional development is important, and we ensure that the session goes ahead as planned without any last-minute cancellations, so your schedule remains respected.

Local culture

Kolkata, the cultural capital of India, has a soul that breathes art. From the iconic murals in Hatibagan to the vibrant street galleries of Park Street, public art is part of the city's DNA. Our training sessions often draw inspiration from the city's unique blend of colonial architecture and bustling markets. We embrace the "Adda" culture, turning our professional development sessions into collaborative, social experiences where ideas flow as freely as the paint.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the "Calcutta Style" of wall writing and political graffiti dates back decades? It's one of the few places in the world where hand-painted typography is literally woven into the city's political and social history! 🇮🇳
