Do I need to be a professional artist to join this training?

Absolutely no prior graffiti experience is needed to join our teacher training in Pune! We start with the absolute basics, from how to hold a spray can to mastering nozzle pressure. Our goal is to build your confidence from the ground up. By the end of the session, you'll feel comfortable not just painting, but also explaining These techniques to your own students in a classroom setting.

What safety gear is provided and taught?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respirators, gloves, and protective suits for all participants. During the training, we also cover important safety protocols for the classroom, such as proper ventilation, eco-friendly paint options, and how to manage a group of students safely around spray equipment. You will leave Pune with a full safety checklist to use in your own school.

Will I receive a certificate after the workshop?

Yes, upon successful completion of the Graffitifun Teacher Training program, you will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate validates your participation in our specialized street art pedagogy workshop and can be a great addition to your professional development portfolio. It shows schools and institutions in Pune and beyond that you are trained in modern, engaging urban art instruction.

Are materials included in the training cost?

We provide everything! Your registration includes all premium spray cans, a wide variety of caps (nozzles), protective gear, practice surfaces, and digital teaching resources. You don't need to bring a single thing except your enthusiasm and perhaps a notebook if you want to jot down specific teaching prompts. We make sure you have the best tools to learn the craft properly.

How long does the teacher training session last?

We typically recommend 2 to 3 hours for the intensive training sessions in Pune. This timeframe allows us to cover the history of the movement, technical spray skills, and the pedagogical portion where we discuss lesson planning. However, we can also offer extended full-day masterclasses for those who want a deeper dive into muralism and large-scale project management for schools.

Do you cover the legal aspects of graffiti and street art?

While we focus on the art itself, we do touch upon the legalities of street art. We teach the 'permission-based' model of graffiti, which is essential for school environments. We'll show you how to help students understand the difference between illegal vandalism and commissioned public art, ensuring your art programs always remain positive, legal, and community-focused.

Is the training more theoretical or hands-on?

The training is very hands-on! While there is a small theoretical component regarding history and safety, about 80% of the workshop involves you actually using the spray cans. We believe the best way to teach art is to experience the 'flow' yourself. You'll be practicing tags, throws, and pieces on our mobile walls or canvases throughout the session.

Local culture

Pune has always been a melting pot of traditional Maharashtrian culture and modern innovation. From the historic walls of Shaniwar Wada to the trendy cafes of Koregaon Park, creativity is everywhere. In recent years, the street art scene in Pune has exploded, with vibrant murals popping up in areas like Kasba Peth, turning old neighborhoods into open-air galleries. Our training taps into this local energy, showing you how to connect your students with the local 'vibe' of the city.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Pune hosts some of India's most unique community-led 'beautification' projects where street art is used to promote social messages and urban cleanliness?

Whether you are based in Kothrud, Baner, or Hadapsar, our workshops are mobile and can come to your institution, or you can join us at our creative hubs. We take the "Pune spirit" of learning and mix it with the raw, unfiltered joy of graffiti. ✨
