Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the training in Ahmedabad?

Absolutely no prior experience is needed! Our Ahmedabad teacher training is designed to take you from a complete beginner to a confident graffiti instructor. We start with basic spray can control and safety protocols before moving into complex lettering and mural design. Our professional artists guide you through every flick of the wrist, ensuring you feel empowered to teach these same techniques to your own students back at your school or studio.

What safety gear is provided and how do you handle health concerns?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respirators, gloves, and protective suits for all participants. During the training, we also teach you how to set up a safe workspace for your students, including proper ventilation outdoors and how to manage group dynamics while using spray paint. You'll leave the workshop not just with artistic skills, but with a comprehensive safety checklist for your own future classroom sessions.

Can the workshop be held at my school or a specific location?

We offer total flexibility for our Ahmedabad workshops. While most of our professional development sessions take place outdoors at designated street art zones or legal walls to provide the most authentic experience, we can also come to your school campus or a private venue if you have a suitable outdoor space. If it rains, don't worry—we have access to covered locations to keep the creativity flowing.

How long does the teacher professional development session last?

Standard teacher training sessions typically last between 2 to 3 hours. This timeframe allows us to cover the history of street art, master basic technical skills, and complete a collaborative mural. For schools looking for a more in-depth curriculum, we can also arrange full-day intensives or multi-day programmes that dive deeper into lesson planning and advanced spray painting techniques tailored specifically for educators.

Do you provide a curriculum or lesson plans I can use later?

Yes, we believe in 'learn today, teach tomorrow.' We provide digital resources and a structured framework that you can adapt for your own art classes. This includes tips on sourcing budget-friendly materials in India, managing a classroom of students with spray cans, and aligning graffiti projects with traditional art curriculum goals like colour theory, composition, and typography. You'll have all the tools to inspire the next generation.

Is there an upfront payment required for the booking?

No, you don't need to pay anything upfront! We operate on a trust-based system where you only pay after the workshop is successfully completed. This ensures you are 100% satisfied with the training and the skills you've gained. We accept various payment methods, and we'll send you a clear invoice following the event. It’s our way of making professional development stress-free for Ahmedabad’s hardworking educators.

What is the minimum and maximum group size for the training?

We generally recommend a minimum group size of 5 to 10 educators to make the session interactive and cost-effective. However, we also cater to large groups of 50+ teachers for district-wide professional development days. The pricing is tiered, so the more colleagues you bring along, the lower the cost per person. If you have a very small or extremely large group, just let us know and we’ll customise a plan for you.

The experience

Why choose Graffitifun for your professional development in Ahmedabad? We don't just teach you how to paint; we teach you how to inspire. Here is why educators love our program:

Hands-on experience: Get away from the whiteboard and get your hands on a spray can—the best way to learn is by doing.
Classroom-ready skills: We focus on techniques that are easy to replicate in a school environment with limited resources.
No financial risk: With our "pay after the workshop" policy, you can book with total peace of mind.
Expert instructors: Learn from working street artists who understand the technical nuances of the medium.
Cultural relevance: We help you integrate Ahmedabad’s local art history into modern street art lessons.
Safety first: We provide comprehensive training on how to manage fumes and pigments in a student setting.

Step by step

Intro to tools: We start by getting you comfortable with different spray nozzles (caps) and understanding pressure control.
Safety briefing: Learn the essential rules for using aerosol art in a group setting, including mask fitting and site prep.
Basic strokes: Practice making clean lines, dots, and fades on a practice surface to build muscle memory.
Lettering basics: Transition from standard drawing to 'graffiti style' bubble and block letters.
Colour blending: Master the art of 'fading' and 'shading' to give your work 3D depth and pop.
Stencil techniques: Learn how to create and use stencils for detailed logos or repeatable classroom projects.
Mural execution: Work together on a large-scale piece, applying all the skills you've learned in a collaborative environment.
Pedagogical debrief: Discuss how to translate these skills into a classroom setting, focusing on student engagement and cleanup.
Certification: Wrap up with a group photo and receive your Graffitifun recognition for completing the training.
