Do I need previous experience with spray paint to join?

No previous graffiti experience is required to join our training in Chennai. We design our professional development workshops to be inclusive, taking you from the absolute basics of can control to advanced artistic techniques. Whether you are a fine arts teacher or a primary school educator, we provide the foundational skills and safety knowledge you need to confidently lead your own urban art sessions in a classroom setting.

What materials are provided during the training session?

Everything is included in the workshop fee! We provide high-quality spray cans, various nozzle types (caps), protective masks, gloves, and overalls to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the practice surfaces and design templates. You just need to bring your enthusiasm and wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of dust on. We take care of all the logistical heavy lifting for you.

How long does the teacher training session last?

The training typically lasts between 3 to 4 hours. This duration is perfectly balanced to cover the essential theory of street art history, rigorous safety protocols, technical technique demonstrations, and ample hands-on practice time. We ensure the session is high-energy and packed with value, leaving you prepared to implement these creative projects in your own school or community centre immediately after finishing.

Is the spray painting process safe for a school environment?

Safety is our absolute priority, especially when training educators who will work with youth. We use low-pressure spray cans that are easier to control and provide high-quality respiratory protection (FFP2/FFP3 masks). Our instructors are seasoned professionals who teach proper ventilation techniques and site preparation to ensure a 100% safe environment. We provide a full safety checklist that you can replicate in your own future workshops.

Can I really teach this to my students legally?

Absolutely! Our training specifically focuses on 'Legal Street Art' and how to channel student energy into constructive, authorized creative outlets. We teach you how to discuss the difference between vandalism and street art with your students, and how to obtain permissions for murals. This pedagogical approach helps schools foster a sense of ownership and pride among students while beautifying the campus grounds legally.

What is the minimum group size for a training session?

To keep things affordable and high-quality, we usually require a minimum group of 5-10 educators to book a private training session. However, we also host 'open-mural' days where individual teachers can sign up. If you have a small department, feel free to contact us, and we can try to pair you with another school group in Chennai to make the session happen!
