Is graffiti art safe for primary school children?

Safety is our number one priority! We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for every student. Our spray cans are low-pressure, making them easier for small hands to control, and we use paints that are safer for outdoor use. Our professional artists are also trained in classroom management to ensure a structured, secure, and super fun environment for everyone involved.

What is the minimum age for the workshop?

We usually recommend our workshops for children aged 6 and up (Class 1 and above). At this age, they have the motor skills to handle the spray cans and can follow the safety instructions effectively. We tailor the complexity of the designs based on the specific age group, ensuring that even the youngest students walk away feeling like true street art champions!

Do we need a specific area at our school for this?

Ideally, we need an outdoor space with good ventilation, like a school playground, a basketball court, or a parking area. We bring mobile wooden walls or large canvases, so we don't need to paint on your actual school buildings! If it rains, we can move under a shed or use large ventilated indoor spaces with drop cloths to protect the floors.

How long does a typical school session last?

A standard primary school workshop usually lasts between 90 minutes and 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of a group mural or individual pieces. We can also adjust the timing to fit into your school’s specific period blocks or snack breaks.

Does the school need to provide any materials?

Not at all! We bring everything needed for the masterpiece. This includes premium spray cans in a rainbow of colours, caps (nozzles), protective gear, and the surfaces to paint on. We even bring sketches and inspiration boards. The school only needs to provide the space and the enthusiastic students ready to learn a cool new skill!

Can we choose a specific theme for the mural?

Yes, we love making things personal! We can incorporate your school’s values, a specific theme you are teaching in class (like the environment or history), or even the school logo into the mural design. Just let us know your ideas beforehand, and our artists will create a concept that aligns perfectly with your educational goals.

Step by step

Introduction and inspiration: Our professional artists start with a high-energy intro about the history of street art and show some amazing examples to get the kids buzzing.
Safety first: Every student gets geared up with a mask, gloves, and a protective suit. We explain the 'golden rules' of using spray cans safely.
Mastering the nozzle: We teach the kids how to hold the can and control the pressure to make dots, thin lines, and thick strokes.
Sketching the vision: Before hitting the wall, students practice their ideas on paper or small boards to plan their colours and shapes.
The first spray: Under the guidance of our experts, kids start filling in large areas of the mural or their individual canvases.
Adding the 'pop': We show them how to add shadows, highlights, and outlines to make their graffiti art really stand out.
Collaboration time: The students work together to connect their individual styles into one massive, cohesive school masterpiece.
The big reveal: We take a group photo with the finished artwork—a moment of pure pride for every young artist involved!
