Is the graffiti workshop safe for individuals with special needs?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun Chennai, safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective suits for all participants. We also use low-pressure spray cans that are easier to control and premium, low-odour paints to ensure the environment remains comfortable for those with sensory sensitivities. Our artists are trained to supervise the session closely while ensuring everyone has the freedom to express themselves safely.

How do you accommodate different sensory or physical needs?

We pride ourselves on flexibility. Whether it is adjusting the volume of background music, providing quiet zones, or using visual aids to explain techniques, we cater to various sensory requirements. Our Chennai workshops are designed to be low-stress, and we encourage participants to take breaks whenever they need. We can also adapt the physical setup of the canvases to accommodate wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

Our standard workshops in Chennai typically last between 1.5 to 3 hours. However, for our special needs programs, we are very flexible with timing. We understand that some groups may need more time for transitions or may prefer shorter, more intensive bursts of activity. We work closely with caregivers and organisers to find a rhythm that keeps everyone engaged without feeling overwhelmed.

Do participants need to have any previous art skills?

No prior artistic experience is necessary at all! Our workshops are about the 'process' and the joy of creation, not just the final result. Our professional artists use simple, step-by-step demonstrations that are easy to follow. We focus on 'freestyle' expression, meaning there are no mistakes in graffiti—only unique artistic choices. This makes it a very empowering activity for beginners.

Where in Chennai do these workshops take place?

We can host the workshop at various locations across Chennai. We have several partner spots, but we can also come to your facility, school, or community centre if there is a suitable outdoor or well-ventilated indoor space. Bringing the workshop to a familiar environment can often help participants feel more at ease and comfortable during the creative process.

How does the booking and payment process work?

One of the best parts about Graffitifun is that we don't require any upfront payment. We believe in the quality of our experience and want you to feel confident booking with us. You only pay after the workshop is completed and everyone is satisfied. Simply reach out to us for a custom quote, and once details are finalised, your date is locked in.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything! This includes a wide range of colourful spray cans, protective gear (suits, gloves, and masks), and the surfaces to paint on (usually large boards or canvases). We also bring along inspiration boards and stencils to help spark creativity. All you need to bring is a positive attitude and clothes you don't mind getting a little paint on!

Local culture

Chennai has always been a city where tradition meets a burgeoning modern art scene. From the giant historical murals on the walls of the Kannagi Nagar housing board to the quirky cafes in Besant Nagar, street art is becoming a core part of the city’s identity. Our workshops tap into this 'Madras' spirit, blending local vibrancy with global graffiti techniques. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Chennai is home to India’s first official 'Art District' in Kannagi Nagar? We take huge inspiration from these local legends who have transformed the city's skyline with massive, meaningful murals! 🏆

Whether you're looking for a session in the heart of the city or a quiet setup in the suburbs of ECR, we adapt to the unique vibe of your Chennai neighbourhood.
