Is the graffiti workshop safe for teenagers and young adults?

Absolutely! We prioritize safety above all else. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for every participant. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces. Plus, our expert instructors are trained to oversee youth groups, ensuring that the spray cans are used responsibly and that everyone follows the safety protocols while having the time of their lives.

Do the kids need to have previous artistic skills?

No prior talent or art experience is needed! Our workshops are designed for everyone, from those who can't draw a straight line to budding Picassos. Our professional artists break down the process into simple, easy-to-follow steps. We focus on the 'fun' element and self-expression rather than perfect technique. You'll be surprised at the amazing masterpiece you can create by the end of the session!

What materials are included in the youth project package?

We take care of everything! Your booking includes all the premium spray paint cans in a rainbow of colours, protective gear (masks, gloves, overalls), and the surfaces we’ll be painting on—whether that's a large communal wall or individual canvases. We also bring caps (nozzles) for different effects and all the cleaning supplies needed. Just bring your enthusiasm and wear some old clothes!

How long does a typical graffiti session last?

A standard youth workshop in Chennai typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief introduction to street art history, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the creation of a final collaborative mural or individual pieces. We can also customise the duration to fit your specific event schedule or school timetable if needed.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Chennai's weather can be unpredictable, but we’ve got you covered! If it looks like rain, we can move the workshop to a covered outdoor area or an indoor space with proper ventilation using water-based, low-odour spray paints. We also have backup artists available, so your event will never be cancelled due to staff shortages. Your creative plans are safe with us!

Can this workshop help with team building for youth groups?

Street art is a fantastic way for youth to learn collaboration. Many of our projects involve creating one massive 'crew' mural where every participant is responsible for a specific section. They have to coordinate colours, styles, and overlapping elements, which naturally builds communication skills and team spirit. Plus, there's a massive sense of shared pride when the final giant artwork is revealed!

Is the graffiti permanent or temporary?

While we often work on temporary walls or canvases, we can certainly arrange for a permanent mural if you have a legal wall available at your school, community centre, or youth club. This is a great way to leave a lasting legacy in the neighbourhood! If you don't have a wall, don't worry—our mobile set-ups allow the spray-painting fun to happen almost anywhere in Chennai.

Step by step

The intro: We start with a quick, high-energy briefing on the history of street art and the 'rules of the road' for using spray cans.
Safety first: Everyone gets geared up in protective suits, gloves, and professional masks to keep things clean and safe.
Master the tech: Our artists demonstrate 'can control'—learning how to make thin lines, fat fills, and cool gradients.
Sketching it out: Participants brainstorm their ideas and lightly sketch their designs onto the surface using chalk or light paint.
The first layer: It's time to spray! We start by filling in the 'fills' (the inside of the letters or shapes) with vibrant colours.
Outlining & shadows: Add the 'pop' by outlining the shapes and adding 3D effects or shadows for that professional look.
Style & flares: Time for the highlights! Add bubbles, sparkles, or 'drips' to give the artwork its own unique character.
The big reveal: Step back and check out the masterpiece! We take group photos to capture the incredible work of the new Chennai crew.
Tidy up: We pack up all the gear and leave the site spotless, leaving only the amazing art behind.

Local culture

Chennai's art scene is exploding, from the traditional kolams on every doorstep to the massive murals popping up in the Kannagi Nagar Art District. There is a deep-rooted love for colour and storytelling in this city, and our youth projects tap directly into that Madras spirit. We celebrate the local vibe, encouraging participants to blend global street art styles with patterns and themes that represent their life in Chennai.

Fun Fact: Chennai is home to one of India's largest street art settlements in Kannagi Nagar, where over 80,000 residents live surrounded by world-class murals that have transformed the neighbourhood into an open-air gallery! 🏆

Whether we are setting up near the iconic Marina Beach or in the heart of the IT corridor, we bring an urban energy that resonates with the city's dynamic youth. We aren't just spraying paint; we're building a new generation of Chennai artists. ✨
