Do we need any prior art skills to join a graffiti workshop?

Absolutely no prior artistic experience is needed! Our workshops are designed for everyone, from complete beginners to those who have dabbled in sketching. Our professional artists guide you through every step, starting with basic spray techniques and safety. You'll be amazed at how quickly you pick up the skills and create something you're proud of. It’s all about having fun and being creative in a relaxed environment.

Is the graffiti workshop safe for university students?

The health and safety of your students are our top priorities. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks and gloves, for every participant. Our aerosol paints are industry-standard, and we strictly conduct our sessions in well-ventilated outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces. Our instructors are trained to manage groups safely and ensure that everyone follows the correct procedures for a worry-free, creative experience.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard university workshop usually lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This timeframe allows enough room for an introduction, a practice session on plastic wrap or practice boards, and the final creation of a collaborative mural or individual canvases. We can also customise the duration to fit into your event schedule, whether it's a quick festival slot or a deep-dive masterclass for an art society.

What materials do you provide for the event?

We bring everything! Graffitifun provides professional-grade spray cans in a wide variety of vibrant colours, protective clothing (masks/gloves/overalls), and the surfaces to paint on—whether that’s large-scale plastic sheeting or individual canvases. You just need to show up in clothes you don't mind getting a little paint on! We handle the logistics so you can focus on the art.

Where in Kolkata do these workshops take place?

We are flexible! We can host the workshop right on your campus if you have a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated hall. If campus space isn't an option, we can help scout a local Kolkata venue that fits your group size. Using mobile 'graffiti walls' (heavily wrapped plastic between pillars), we ensure that your university walls stay clean while still giving you the full street art experience.

What happens if there's a last-minute change or cancellation?

Definitely. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. We don't require upfront payments because we are confident in the quality of our workshops—you only pay after the event is successfully completed. Additionally, we have a network of backup artists available, so even if an emergency happens, your workshop will never be cancelled. We are committed to making your university event a massive success.

Can we customise the theme of the workshop?

Certainly! We love theme-based workshops. Whether it’s a specific message for your university's annual fest, a focus on campus unity, or an environmental theme, we can tailor the session labels and designs. Our team will work with your student council or faculty to ensure the workshop aligns perfectly with your goals, making it a truly bespoke experience for your batch.

Introduction & safety: Meet our pro artists and get a quick brief on the history of street art and essential safety protocols.
Gear up: Put on your protective masks, gloves, and overalls to stay clean while you get creative.
Master the foundations: Learn the basics—how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create different line widths.
Sketching the vision: Work together to brainstorm a theme or sketch out your individual designs on paper first.
Outline your piece: Step up to the wall (or canvas) and start sketching your graffiti piece using light "ghost" lines.
Fill with colour: This is the fun part! Start layering your piece with vibrant colours and learning blending techniques.
Add the details: Use sharp outlines, highlights, and "shadows" to make your graffiti art pop and look professional.
Final touches & photos: Step back, admire the collective masterpiece, and snap some epic photos for your socials!

Local culture

Kolkata, the "City of Joy," is no stranger to public art. From the stunning murals in the College Street area to the heritage-infused walls of North Kolkata, the city resonates with a deep love for visual expression. Our workshops tap into this local spirit, allowing Kolkata's youth to add a modern, edgy chapter to the city's artistic legacy. Whether you're a student at Jadavpur University or St. Xavier's, you know that this city breathes culture.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the "Hatibagan" area in Kolkata was once known for its hand-painted movie posters? Today, the city's youth are evolving that tradition into incredible street art! 🎨

Pricing

Our workshop prices are as dynamic as our art! Depending on the group size, location, and specific setup (like custom canvases or large murals), the cost typically ranges between:

₹2000 - ₹5000 per person

We believe in transparency and value, ensuring you get a premium experience that fits your budget. Remember, we don't take upfront payments—your satisfaction comes first!
