Is the graffiti workshop safe for festival-goers?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 respiratory masks, protective gloves, and disposable coveralls to keep your festival gear clean. Our professional artists lead a safety briefing before any cans are popped, ensuring everyone knows how to handle the equipment properly. We use low-odour, high-quality spray paint to make the experience as pleasant as possible for everyone in the vicinity.

How long does a typical festival session last?

We are incredibly flexible! Whether you want a continuous 'drop-in' station where people can paint for 10 minutes between bands, or scheduled 90-minute masterclasses, we can adapt to your festival's rhythm. We usually recommend a flow-through setup for music festivals to ensure the maximum number of people get to have a go without missing their favourite headline acts on the main stage.

What equipment do you provide for the event?

We bring everything needed for a pop-up street art studio. This includes mobile plastic film walls (cellograff), professional spray cans in a huge rainbow of colours, caps, protective gear, and cleaning supplies. We even bring our own floor protection to ensure the festival grounds remain spotless. You just provide the space and the crowd, and we will handle the creative chaos!

Do participants need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our expert artists guide participants through the basics—from how to hold the can and control the pressure to creating fades and sharp outlines. We find that festival-goers often produce the most amazing, spontaneous art because they are already in a high-energy, creative mindset. It is all about having fun and expressing yourself!

What happens if it rains during the music festival?

Strasbourg weather can be unpredictable, but the fun doesn't have to stop! We can set up under gazebos or large festival tents to keep the artists dry. If the weather is truly extreme, our artists are flexible and can pivot to indoor-safe markers or different creative tasks. We also have backup artists available to ensure your event goes ahead no matter what happens with the schedule.

How much does it cost to book a festival workshop?

Pricing typically ranges between €30 and €65 per person, but for large music festivals, we usually work on a day-rate or project basis. This depends on the number of artists required, the volume of paint used, and the duration of the activation. No upfront payment is required—you pay after the workshop! Step by step

Initial consultation: Reach out to us with your festival dates and expected footfall in Strasbourg. We’ll discuss your vision and the best location on-site.
Creative concept: We design a theme that matches your festival's vibe—whether it's EDM, jazz, or indie rock, the art will reflect the music.
Area setup: Our team arrives early to set up the 'cellograff' walls, protective flooring, and our colourful spray paint station.
Artist demonstration: To kick things off, our pros create a live piece to draw in the crowd and show them what's possible.
Hands-on coaching: We invite festival-goers to grab a can. We teach them 'can control'—demonstrating how distance and speed change the lines.
Layering and fading: Participants learn to blend colours and create those iconic street art gradients that make graffiti pop.
The big reveal: Throughout the day, a massive collaborative mural grows, created entirely by your festival audience.
Sustainable pack-up: Once the music stops, we clear everything away, leaving no trace on the environment, while taking photos of the final masterpiece.

Local culture

Strasbourg is a city where history meets modern flair, and its street art scene is no exception. From the vibrant murals in the quartier Gare to the hidden gems in Krutenau, the city has a deep appreciation for urban expression. Bringing a graffiti workshop to a Strasbourg music festival taps into this local culture, connecting the traditional beauty of the Grand Île with the edgy, contemporary spirit of the youth.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Strasbourg is home to "Le NL Contest," an annual urban culture festival that celebrates everything from BMX to street art? The locals here truly know their way around a spray can! 🎨
