Do I need prior graffiti experience to take this training?

Absolutely! Our training is designed to be accessible for educators of all artistic backgrounds. You don't need to be an expert painter to start. We focus on teaching you the foundational techniques, safety protocols, and pedagogical approaches needed to lead a successful classroom session. By the time we finish, you will have the confidence to demonstrate basic strokes and guide your students through their own creative journey.

What safety measures do you teach for the classroom?

Safety is our top priority. We cover everything from the importance of well-ventilated spaces and high-quality respirators to skin protection and proper can handling. You'll learn how to set up a safe 'spray zone' in a school environment and how to manage a group of students with spray cans responsibly. We provide all the necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and teach you how to source it for your own future workshops.

Will I receive any teaching materials or lesson plans?

Yes, we provide a structured curriculum guide that you can take back to your school. This includes lesson plans, historical context, technique cheat sheets, and a materials checklist. Our goal is to ensure you have a 'grab-and-go' resource so you can implement what you've learned immediately. We also offer ongoing support if you have questions when planning your first independent session in Strasbourg.

What equipment do I need to bring to the session?

You don't need to bring a thing! Graffitifun provides all the professional-grade spray paint, caps, protective gear, and practice surfaces. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little 'colourful', as spray paint can sometimes find its way onto garments despite our protective suits. We provide everything else required for a comprehensive professional development day.

How long does the teacher training session last?

The standard professional development workshop lasts between 3 to 4 hours. This allows enough time for the theoretical components, hands-on practice, and a final collaborative piece. However, we can customise the duration to fit your school's 'journée pédagogique' or professional development schedule. Whether you want a compact intensive session or a full-day immersive experience, we can make it happen anywhere in Strasbourg.

Who is this training specifically designed for?

Our training is perfect for a wide range of educators! This includes primary and secondary school art teachers, youth workers, community centre leaders, and even freelance artists looking to expand their teaching repertoire. If you are responsible for engaging young people in creative activities, this professional development course will give you a unique, high-energy tool to add to your educational toolkit.

The experience

Why choose our training in the heart of Alsace? We focus on making street art accessible, educational, and safe. Here is why educators love working with us:

Empower your students: Graffiti is a powerful hook for disengaged students—learn how to use it! 🚀
Safety first: Master the technicalities of PPE and ventilation so you can teach with total peace of mind.
Expert guidance: Learn from professional artists who have years of experience in both the street and the classroom. 🎤
All-in-one kit: We provide everything you need, from the first sketch to the final mural spray.
Boost your CV: Add a unique, modern skill set to your professional teaching portfolio.
Stress-free booking: No upfront payment required—we focus on the art first, and the paperwork later! 🔥

Step by step

Consultation & goals: We start by discussing your specific educational objectives and the age groups you work with in Strasbourg.
Intro to street culture: You'll learn the history and evolution of graffiti to provide your students with proper context.
Health & safety briefing: A deep dive into ventilation, mask types, and managing a group of students with aerosols.
Mastering the tools: Hands-on practice with different nozzles (caps) and learning pressure control with the spray cans.
Basic techniques: Learning how to create clean lines, fades, drips, and 3D effects—the building blocks of street art.
Lettering & design: Moving from sketches to the wall, teaching you how to help students scale their ideas.
Mock workshop: You'll practice leading a short 'teaching segment' to build your confidence in front of a class.
Feedback & resources: We wrap up with a Q&A session and hand over your digital teaching resources and certificates.

Good to know

Our training sessions are designed to be practical, safe, and immensely rewarding. We typically host groups of 5 to 20 educators to ensure personalised attention. Each session includes all professional-grade materials: low-pressure spray cans, various caps, protective overalls, and high-quality respirators. Safety is our number one priority, so we provide comprehensive training on aerosol management and site preparation. Sessions can be held at our dedicated Strasbourg partner locations or we can bring the workshop directly to your school or facility! 🏆

Local culture

Strasbourg is a city that wears its art on its sleeves—or rather, its walls! From the legal graffiti walls at Place de l'Étoile to the vibrant murals in the Neudorf district, the city is a living gallery. Our training taps into this local energy, showing you how to use Strasbourg’s urban landscape as a classroom. Did you know? Strasbourg is home to 'NL Forest', one of the biggest urban culture festivals in France, proving that the city's heart beats for street art. We bring that same passion into our professional development sessions, ensuring you leave with a deep connection to the local craft. ✨

Pricing

We offer flexible pricing to suit individual educators or entire school departments. Our rates typically range from €30 to €65 per person, depending on the group size, location, and specific customisation of the training module.
