The experience

Why choose a Graffitifun workshop for your primary schoolers? It’s more than just painting on walls—it’s an empowering educational experience that builds confidence and teamwork. 🏆

  • Boosts confidence: Seeing a giant, colorful piece of art they created themselves gives students a massive sense of achievement.
  • Encourages teamwork: Working on a large mural requires communication and collaboration, teaching kids to respect each other's space and ideas.
  • Accessible art: Graffiti doesn't require "perfect" drawing skills, making it inclusive for students who might feel discouraged by traditional fine arts.
  • Safe & professional: We use child-friendly materials and have a team of backup artists ready, so your event never gets cancelled. 🔥
  • No upfront cost: We trust our quality! You only pay after the workshop is done and everyone is happy.

Step by step

  1. The warm-up: We start with a high-energy intro about the history of street art and how it turned from tags to world-famous murals.
  2. Digital design: Students can try our Tag Creator online before the day to start brainstorming their own unique nicknames.
  3. Safety briefing: Our pros demonstrate how to use the gear correctly, emphasizing nozzle control and distance.
  4. Sketching session: Before the paint flies, kids practice their designs on paper to get their layout just right.
  5. First lines: Under the guidance of our artists, students make their first 'tags' on the practice wall to get a feel for the spray pressure.
  6. Color & fill: This is where the magic happens! Kids learn how to blend colors and fill in their designs for maximum impact.
  7. Outlining & highlights: We teach the secret tricks to making art 'pop' using sharp outlines and white highlights.
  8. The big reveal: Everyone steps back to admire the collective masterpiece and snap some group photos.
  9. Clean up: We handle the pack-up and leave the site as clean as we found it, taking all materials with us.

Local culture

Street art in Kyoto

Kyoto might be famous for its stunning temples and traditional woodblock prints, but the city also has a growing appreciation for contemporary urban art. While we respect the deep history of the city, our workshops allow students to explore a modern "global" art form within the context of their own community. We love seeing how Kyoto's young artists blend traditional Japanese motifs—like cherry blossoms or waves—with bold, colorful graffiti lettering. 🌸

Fun fact: Did you know Kyoto is home to several "legal walls" where local artists are encouraged to paint? It’s a city that truly understands the balance between preserving the old and embracing the new!
