Looking for a way to spark creativity and build confidence in Kyoto's young people? Our graffiti youth projects in Kyoto offer an electrifying, hands-on experience that goes way beyond a standard art class. We transform local youth centers, schools, and community spaces into vibrant hubs of urban expression. Led by professional street artists, these workshops teach teens how to channel their energy into stunning murals, all while learning about the history and techniques of this global art movement. Whether you're organizing a community day or a school program, our workshops provide a safe, legal, and incredibly "cool" outlet for self-expression. It’s about more than just paint; it’s about teamwork, focus, and seeing a big vision come to life on a grand scale. Ready to make your mark?

The experience
Why choose Graffitifun for your next youth initiative in Kyoto? We don't just teach kids how to spray; we empower them to think like artists. 🚀
- Boosts Confidence: Seeing a 2-meter tall mural they helped create gives teens an incredible sense of accomplishment.
- Safe & Legal: We emphasize the difference between vandalism and street art, providing a legal outlet for urban expression.
- Professional Mentorship: Participants work side-by-side with real pro artists who share their journey and skills.
- Teamwork in Action: Large murals require communication and collaboration, teaching kids how to work together toward a visual goal.
- Zero Stress for Organizers: We bring all the gear, handle the set-up, and manage the cleanup. You just bring the group! 🔥

Step by step
- Introduction & Safety: We start with a high-energy intro to street art culture and a quick safety briefing to ensure everyone uses the gear correctly.
- Concept Sketching: Participants grab markers and paper to brainstorm their designs, focusing on 'tags' and 'throw-ups' that represent their personality.
- Can control basics: Our pros teach the 'science' of the spray can—how distance, speed, and pressure change the lines on the wall.
- The practice run: Everyone heads to the practice wall to get a feel for the paint, experimenting with different colors and nozzles.
- Outline & Fill: Time to start the main event! Participants outline their chosen design and learn the 'filling' techniques to make colors pop.
- Adding the 'Flavour': We teach advanced tricks like 3D shadowing, highlights, and 'force-fields' (outlines) to give the art depth.
- Collaborative Mural: The group works together to connect their individual pieces into one massive, cohesive Kyoto-inspired street art mural.
- The Grand Reveal: We finish with a group photo and a 'critique' session where everyone celebrates the hard work and creativity of their peers.

Local culture
Street art in Kyoto
Kyoto is world-famous for its traditional temples and history, but there is a bubbling underground creative scene that loves to blend the 'old' with the 'new.' Our workshops often draw inspiration from the city's unique aesthetic—think bold graffiti letters paired with motifs inspired by Gion or the Arashiyama bamboo groves.
Fun Fact: While Kyoto is known for its strict aesthetic rules to preserve history, the city has several hidden "legal wall" spots where local writers keep the culture alive, proving that tradition and modern street art can coexist perfectly!
We encourage Kyoto's youth to take pride in their city by creating art that reflects their contemporary reality within this historic landscape. 🎨
