Is the workshop accessible for those with physical disabilities?

Absolutely! We use special low-pressure cans that are easier to control, and we can provide adaptive nozzles for those with limited hand strength. Our artists are trained to assist with physical positioning, ensuring everyone can apply paint to the wall or canvas. We also ensure the workshop area is flat and wheelchair accessible so that mobility is never a barrier to creativity in Echternach.

How do you handle sensory sensitivities during the session?

We prioritise comfort and safety. We use water-based spray paint options when necessary, which have significantly lower fumes than traditional cans. For participants sensitive to noise, we can provide ear protection or arrange the workshop in a quieter section of the venue. We also work at a pace that suits the group’s sensory needs, allowing for breaks whenever a participant feels overwhelmed.

Do participants need any prior artistic experience?

Not at all! Our professional artists guide everyone through the process step-by-step. We start with simple lines and shapes, so even those who have never held a paintbrush before feel like masters of the spray can by the end. The focus in Echternach is always on the joy of creation and self-expression rather than technical perfection or 'correct' artistic skills.

How long does the graffiti workshop usually last?

Standard sessions last between 1.5 to 3 hours, but for our special needs programs, we are completely flexible. We can shorten the session to accommodate shorter attention spans or extend it to allow for a more relaxed, unhurried pace. We customise the schedule based on your group's specific requirements to ensure a stress-free and enjoyable experience for all involved.

What safety measures are in place for the participants?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves and masks. All our paints are professional-grade and handled under the supervision of experienced artists. We also conduct a safety briefing at the start, tailored to the understanding level of the participants, to ensure everyone knows how to use the equipment properly and safely while having fun.

What is the ideal group size for this program?

We are happy to accommodate groups of almost any size. For special needs programs, we recommend a lower artist-to-participant ratio to ensure everyone gets the individual attention they deserve. Generally, we work with groups from 5 to 50 people, but we can arrange multiple artists for larger events. Just let us know your numbers, and we will tailor the experience for you.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your special needs program in Echternach? Street art is a powerful tool for empowerment, offering a unique sensory experience that traditional art forms sometimes lack. Here’s why it works so well:

Sensory Engagement: The texture of the paint, the sound of the can, and the vibrant colours provide a stimulating sensory experience. 🌈
Confidence Building: Seeing a large-scale piece of art come to life gives participants an immediate sense of pride and achievement.
Fine Motor Development: Handling the spray cans and nozzles is a fun way to practice hand-eye coordination and grip.
Self-Expression: Graffiti has no "wrong" way to do it, allowing for total freedom of expression without judgment. 🎤
Social Interaction: Working on a shared wall or project fosters a sense of community and teamwork among participants.
Stress Relief: The rhythmic nature of spraying paint can be incredibly calming and therapeutic for many.

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We start with a warm welcome and a simple safety briefing tailored to the group's needs. ✨
Concept Sketching: Participants brainstorm ideas or choose from pre-set templates to start their creative journey.
Can Control Practice: We learn how to hold the spray can and practice spraying simple dots and lines on a practice surface.
Choosing Colours: A fun phase where everyone picks their favourite vibrant shades from our professional paint selection.
Base Layering: We help participants apply the first layers of colour to their canvas or wall, building a bright foundation. 🎨
Adding Details: Using stencils or freehand techniques, we add shapes, characters, or names to make the art pop.
Outline & Glow: Our artists assist in adding the final 'cool' touches, like outlines and highlights, for a professional look.
Group Photoshoot: Once the masterpiece is complete, we celebrate with a group photo in front of the finished artwork! 📸
Cleanup & Take-home: We handle the tidy-up, and if participants worked on canvases, they can take their art home immediately.

Local culture

Echternach is famous for its historic Dancing Procession and its stunning medieval architecture, but it’s also a town that embraces modern culture and inclusivity. Set against the backdrop of the Mullerthal region (Luxembourg’s 'Little Switzerland'), our workshops bring a splash of contemporary colour to this ancient town. We love hosting sessions near the Echternach Lake or within local community centres, where the tranquil atmosphere helps participants focus on their art. 🌲

Fun Fact: Did you know Echternach is the oldest town in Luxembourg? While the town is steeped in history dating back to the 7th century, our graffiti workshops prove that you're never too old (or too young) to try something brand new!

We take pride in being part of the local community, working closely with residents from Echternach to nearby Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette to ensure that street art is an accessible hobby for everyone in the Grand Duchy.

Pricing

Our pricing is transparent and designed to be as inclusive as the workshops themselves. We offer various packages depending on the level of support required and the materials used.

Estimated Price: €35 - €70 per person (depending on group size and session length).
