Is the workshop safe for participants with sensory sensitivities?

Absolutely! We take safety very seriously. We provide high-quality FFP2 or FFP3 masks, protective gloves, and disposable overalls to keep everyone clean and safe. Our water-based spray paints are low-odour and much friendlier for sensitive respiratory systems than traditional street cans. Furthermore, our professional artists are trained to supervise the session closely, ensuring a controlled environment where everyone can express themselves without any risks.

Do you have wheelchair-accessible locations in Lisbon?

Yes, we can! We have several preferred locations in Lisbon that are fully wheelchair accessible with flat, paved surfaces. If you have a specific venue in mind, such as a community centre or school gym, we are more than happy to come to you. Our artists are mobile and can set up temporary 'graffiti walls' almost anywhere, ensuring that no one is left out because of mobility challenges.

How do you adapt the workshop for people with learning disabilities?

Our workshops are incredibly flexible. Our artists are experienced in breaking down instructions into simple, bite-sized steps using visual aids if necessary. We focus on the 'doing' rather than the 'perfecting'. Whether it is big, bold movements for those with limited fine motor skills or tactile feedback for others, we adapt our teaching style to match the energy and capability of every individual in the group.

Do participants need any prior art experience or skills?

Not at all! One of the best things about our Special Needs Graffiti Program is that there is no right or wrong way to do it. Graffiti is inherently an 'imperfect' art form. We encourage everyone to spray, splash, and experiment. Our artists are there to guide the process, but the ultimate goal is the smile on the participants' faces and the pride they feel in seeing their colours on the wall.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard session usually lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. However, we know that for some groups, a shorter, more intense burst of activity works better, while others might need a slower pace with more breaks. During the booking process, we will chat with you about the specific needs of your participants to ensure we find the 'sweet spot' for the duration and rhythm of the day.

What is the process for booking a workshop in Lisbon?

We make the booking process as stress-free as possible. You don't need to pay anything upfront! We believe in the quality of our service, so you only pay after the workshop is completed. You can start by using our online Cost Calculator to get a rough idea, then simply reach out for a custom quote. We also have backup artists available to ensure your event never has to be cancelled.

The experience

Why choose our special needs program in Lisbon? Because we believe art should be a tool for empowerment, not a source of frustration. Here is why our workshops are a hit:

Tactile & Sensory: The sound of the spray, the vibration of the can, and the visual pop of colour provide a rich sensory experience. ✨
Confidence Booster: Seeing a giant, colourful mural come to life creates an incredible sense of pride and "I can do this!" attitude. 💪
Physical Engagement: Spraying involves gross motor movements that are both fun and physically engaging in a low-pressure way.
Zero Judgment: Street art is about freedom. In our sessions, there is no such thing as a mistake—only "happy accidents" and layers of paint.
Fully Customisable: We adapt everything from the paint pressure to the seating arrangements to ensure total comfort for every guest. 🌈

Step by step

Initial consultation: Reach out to us to share the specific needs and abilities of your group so we can tailor the experience perfectly.
Location selection: We choose an accessible spot in Lisbon, like the LX Factory area or a private community space, that fits your needs.
Safety briefing: We start with a gentle introduction to the tools, focusing on how to use the spray cans safely and comfortably.
Suiting up: Everyone gets fitted with protective suits, gloves, and masks—it's part of the fun transformation into a street artist!
Doodle & play: We begin with a 'free spray' session on the practice wall to get used to the pressure and flow of the cans.
Theme creation: Our artist guides the group in creating a collective masterpiece or individual canvases based on a chosen theme.
Colour explosion: Participants choose their favourite vibrant colours to fill in shapes and express their unique personality.
The big reveal: We step back to admire the finished work and take group photos to commemorate the creative achievement.
Easy wrap-up: No stress about cleaning—we handle all the pack-down while you take home your artwork and memories.

Local culture

Lisbon is a city that breathes art, from the historic tiles (Azulejos) to the massive murals in Marvila. Its hilly streets and sunny skies provide the perfect backdrop for a creative escape. Our workshops often take place in areas that celebrate this urban culture, ensuring participants feel like a real part of Lisbon's thriving street art scene.

Fun Fact: Lisbon is home to the GAU (Galeria de Arte Urbana), a city-run project that actually encourages street art in designated areas to help keep the city colourful and expressive! 🇵🇹

We embrace this local spirit of openness. For our special needs groups, we select pockets of the city that are calm enough to avoid sensory overload but close enough to the action to feel the "Lisboa" buzz. We are also proud to serve surrounding areas and can arrange similar sessions in Porto, Braga, Coimbra, or Faro.
