Do I need to be a professional artist to join the training?

No prior spray paint experience is needed! Our training is designed to take you from a complete novice to a confident street art educator. We cover the basics of 'can control' and cap management before moving into advanced pedagogical techniques. The goal is to give you the skills to teach others, regardless of where your personal artistic journey starts. We provide all the tools you need to succeed.

What safety protocols do you teach for classroom environments?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respirators, gloves, and protective gear for all participants. During the workshop, we teach you how to set up safe 'spray zones' for your students, how to manage ventilation, and the proper way to handle and store aerosol cans. You will leave the training with a comprehensive safety checklist that you can implement in any school or community setting in Artigas.

How long does the professional development session last?

The training typically lasts between 3 and 5 hours, depending on the depth of the curriculum you choose. We offer intensive one-day sessions that cover the essentials of street art history, technical skills, and lesson planning. If you have a large group of staff members, we can split the training over two days to allow for more hands-on practice and collaborative mural planning.

Can these techniques be used indoors or in small classrooms?

Absolutely! While Artigas has beautiful outdoor spots, we often conduct training using temporary mobile walls or large-scale cellophane wrap (cellograff) which can be set up in school halls or gymnasiums. We teach you various 'low-mess' techniques and water-based spray paint options that are specifically designed for indoor use, ensuring you can bring graffiti art to your students all year round, regardless of the weather.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes, upon successful completion of the workshop, you will receive a Graffitifun Certificate of Participation. This serves as a testament to your professional development and your new-found ability to lead graffiti-based workshops. It’s a fantastic addition to any teacher's portfolio, showing your commitment to modern, inclusive, and culturally relevant art education. Many of our trainees find this particularly useful for career progression within the Uruguayan education system.

How does the 'pay after the workshop' policy work?

We believe in our process 100%, which is why we don't require any upfront payment. You only pay after the workshop is complete and you're satisfied with the results. This takes the pressure off your school's budget planning and ensures we are fully committed to delivering a transformational experience. It’s our 'fun guaranteed' promise to the educators of Artigas!

Local culture

Artigas is a city built on heritage and the stunning beauty of its famous amethysts, but there is a growing pulse of modern creativity through its streets. We love the contrast between the historic architecture and the potential for vibrant, temporary street art. The local culture here is warm and community-focused, which is exactly the vibe we bring to our teacher training sessions. We aim to celebrate Artigas' unique identity by helping teachers incorporate local stories into their graffiti lessons. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Artigas is world-renowned for its giant geodes? Just like cracking open a stone to find a purple treasure, we help you crack open your students' potential to find their inner artist!
