Who is this graffiti teacher training designed for?

Our Bukit Timah teacher training is designed for primary and secondary art educators, community workshop leaders, and teaching artists. Whether you work in a MOE school or run private art sessions, we tailor the professional development to suit your curriculum needs and student profiles, ensuring the skills you learn are immediately applicable to your classroom environment.

Is spray painting safe to do with students in a school setting?

Safety is our top priority. We cover everything from proper mask usage and ventilation to choosing water-based, low-odor spray paints suitable for school environments. You will learn how to manage a classroom of students with spray cans safely, ensuring everyone has a blast without any health risks or messy accidents on school property.

Do I need prior experience with graffiti to join the workshop?

Not at all! This training is built for everyone from total beginners to seasoned painters. We start with the absolute basics of can control and line work before moving into more complex mural compositions. Our goal is to give you the confidence to lead others, regardless of your personal starting point.

What materials are provided during the teacher training session?

We provide everything you need at our Bukit Timah location. This includes high-quality spray cans, various nozzles (caps), protective gloves, masks, and coveralls. We also provide the practice surfaces and design templates. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on!

Can the professional development session be held at our school?

While we usually host sessions at our designated creative spaces for the best experience, we can certainly bring the mobile graffiti wall to your school in Bukit Timah. This is a great way to train your entire art department on-site using your own facilities. Just let us know your school's layout when booking.

How long does a typical training session last?

Standard individual training usually lasts between 2 to 3 hours. For comprehensive professional development (PD) days involving multiple staff members, we can extend the session to a full-day masterclass. This allows for deeper dives into art history, stencil making, and large-scale mural planning for your school's walls.

Do I need to pay in advance for the training?

We believe in the quality of our workshops so much that we don't require upfront payments. You can book your slot, complete the professional development session with our artists, and handle the payment afterwards. This makes the administrative process much easier for school departments and individual teachers alike.

The experience

Why choose our training in Bukit Timah?

Taking your professional development to the next level shouldn't be a chore. Here is why educators across Singapore trust us to help them master the spray can:

Hands-on learning: You don't just watch; you paint. We ensure you get maximum "can-time" to build muscle memory.
Curriculum-ready skills: We teach you how to translate graffiti techniques into structured lessons for various grade levels.
Zero risk booking: With no upfront payment and a 100% satisfaction focus, your department budget is safe with us.
Safety first: We provide full PPE and teach you how to maintain a safe, clean working environment for your students.
Reliable experts: Our artists are professionals who have worked with dozens of schools; we always have backup artists ready to go.
Local expertise: We understand the Singapore art scene and the specific needs of Bukit Timah schools.

Step by step

Intro to street culture: We kick things off with a brief history of graffiti and how it evolved into a respected contemporary art form, giving you the context needed for lesson planning.
Can mechanics: Learn the technical side of the tool—how to handle the pressure, swap nozzles (caps), and maintain consistent lines without drips.
Basic lettering & shapes: Master the fundamental building blocks of graffiti style, from 'tags' to simple 'throw-ups' that you can teach to your students.
Color theory & blending: Practice advanced techniques like 'fades' and 'cut-backs' to create depth and vibrant visual effects on a vertical surface.
Stencil & design workshops: Discover how to integrate stencils into your curriculum, allowing even less-confident students to produce high-impact results.
Classroom management: Our artists share tips on how to organize a spray paint session for 30+ students safely and efficiently.
Collaborative mural project: Work together on a final large-scale piece, simulating the experience of leading a class mural project in your own school.
Review & certification: Finish with a Q&A session on sourcing materials and curriculum integration, leaving with the confidence to lead your own street art modules.
