Is the graffiti workshop safe for students in Bukit Timah?

Safety is our top priority for every Bukit Timah school session. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls to keep uniforms clean. Our professional grade spray paint is selected for the lowest possible odor, and we always conduct workshops in well-ventilated outdoor areas or dedicated wall spaces. Our instructors are experienced in managing large student groups, ensuring everyone follows safety protocols while having a great time.

Can students take their artwork home after the session?

Absolutely! While we love creating large-scale murals, we also offer "canvas" workshops where students can take their personal masterpieces home. This is a popular choice for schools in Singapore that want students to have a physical memory of the day. Alternatively, we can work on a designated school wall for a lasting legacy, or use large temporary wooden boards that can be displayed around the campus later.

What is the ideal age group for these school workshops?

We typically recommend our workshops for students aged 8 and up. For younger primary school students in Bukit Timah, we focus more on stencil art and color blending to make it manageable. For secondary school and JC students, we dive deeper into complex lettering, 3D effects, and the history of the subculture. We always tailor the technical difficulty to match the age group and skill level of your students.

How much does a school graffiti workshop cost?

Our pricing in Singapore is flexible and depends on the total number of students, the duration of the workshop, and the materials required. Generally, prices range from S$45 to S$100 per person. Larger school cohorts often benefit from lower per-head rates. Because every school event is unique, we recommend reaching out for a custom quote so we can fit your specific budget and educational goals perfectly.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

We understand that school schedules can be tight. Typically, an educational workshop lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for a brief history of street art, a safety demonstration, technique practice, and the creation of the final piece. If you have a specific time block, such as a double period or a full "Arts Day" program, we can easily adapt our curriculum to fit your timetable.

Do students need prior art experience to participate?

Not at all! One of the best things about graffiti art is its accessibility. Our professional artists are experts at guiding complete beginners. We start with basic spray control—lines, dots, and fills—before moving on to more complex shapes. Students are often amazed at what they can create in just a couple of hours. It’s a fantastic way to boost confidence in students who might not feel "traditionally" artistic.

How do we book a workshop for our school?

Booking is simple and risk-free. You can contact us via our website to check availability for your preferred date in Bukit Timah. We don't require any upfront payment—you only pay after the workshop is successfully completed. Plus, we have backup artists ready to go, so you never have to worry about last-minute cancellations disrupting your school's carefully planned activity calendar.

Step by step

Introduction & culture: We start with a brief, engaging history of graffiti and street art, explaining its evolution from the streets to galleries.
Safety briefing: Students are fitted with protective gear and taught the 'golden rules' of using spray cans safely and responsibly.
Can control basics: Our artists demonstrate how to hold the can, adjust distance, and control pressure to create different line widths and effects.
Sketching the concept: Students brainstorm their designs on paper, focusing on letters, characters, or a collaborative school-themed mural.
Outline & fill: The exciting part begins! Students start applying their first layers of paint, learning how to fill large areas efficiently.
Detailing & 3D: We teach advanced tricks like adding highlights, shadows, and 'cuts' to make their artwork pop off the surface.
Clean up & reflection: After finishing the pieces, we recap the skills learned and discuss the creative process as a group.

Local culture

Bukit Timah is known for its lush greenery and prestigious educational institutions, making it the perfect backdrop for high-quality creative programs. While the area is famous for the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, there is a growing appreciation for urban art within its modern campus settings. Our workshops tap into this local energy, offering students a chance to explore a different side of Singapore's curated "City in a Garden" aesthetic.

We've worked with various groups across the district, bringing the spirit of the local street art scene—found in spots like Haji Lane or the Rail Corridor—right to your school gates. Whether your students are inspired by the heights of Bukit Timah Hill or the modern architecture of the surrounding neighborhoods, we help them funnel that local inspiration into vibrant, spray-painted masterpieces.
