Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the training?

Absolutely not! Our Fredrikstad art teacher training is designed for all skill levels. Whether you are a seasoned painter or someone who hasn't touched a spray can since childhood, our professional artists will guide you through the basics. We focus on teaching you the methodology and safety protocols so you can confidently lead your own students later on, regardless of your personal 'street cred'.

Is the spray paint safe to use in a school environment?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for all participants. During the session in Fredrikstad, we'll teach you how to set up a safe outdoor or well-ventilated indoor workspace, how to manage paint fumes, and how to supervise students to ensure everyone stays clean and safe while having a blast.

Are all materials included in the training session?

Yes, we provide all the necessary gear! This includes a wide range of professional spray cans, various nozzles (caps) for different effects, protective clothing, and practice surfaces. We even provide sketches and inspiration boards. You just need to bring your enthusiasm and some old clothes you don't mind getting a little dusty!

Where in Fredrikstad do the workshops take place?

We are very flexible. While we love hosting groups at local street art hotspots in Fredrikstad, we can also come to your school or community centre if you have a suitable outdoor wall or a well-ventilated space. If you're coming from nearby Oslo or Sarpsborg, we can coordinate the most convenient location for your specific team.

How long does a typical teacher training session last?

Standard professional development sessions usually last between 2 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time to cover the history of the movement, master basic can control, practice lettering, and complete a collaborative mural. If you need a more intensive full-day masterclass, we can certainly arrange that as well to dive deeper into curriculum integration.

How does the payment process work?

We don't require any upfront payment to secure your booking in Fredrikstad. We believe in the quality of our workshops, so you only pay after the session has been successfully completed. This makes the administrative process much easier for schools and municipalities. Simply request a quote, set a date, and let's get spraying!

How can I integrate graffiti into the national curriculum?

Street art is a fantastic way to engage students who might struggle with traditional fine arts. It promotes large-scale collaboration, boosts confidence, and teaches colour theory in a high-energy way. Our training includes a 'teacher toolkit' segment where we discuss how to link graffiti projects to historical movements, social justice topics, and urban geography.

Local culture

Fredrikstad is a city that breathes history, especially within the stone walls of Gamlebyen. But beyond the historic fortifications, there is a growing appreciation for modern urban expression. By bringing art teacher training to Fredrikstad, we are helping local schools bridge the gap between Norway's rich cultural heritage and contemporary youth culture. The city's creative spirit makes it the perfect backdrop for mastering the "can". 🎭

Fun fact: Did you know that Fredrikstad has been increasingly embracing public murals to revitalise urban spaces? Taking your students on a "street art walk" through the city is the perfect follow-up to our training! 🚩

Pricing

Our training sessions are competitively priced to fit school and departmental budgets in Norway. The cost typically ranges from kr300 to kr650 per person, depending on the number of participants and the specific materials required for your custom session.

Because every school's needs are different, we don't believe in one-size-fits-all pricing. Whether you want a quick practical intro or a deep-dive masterclass, we will tailor the experience to you.
