Do I need to be a graffiti artist already to take this training?

Absolutely no prior graffiti experience is needed to join our training in Iasi! We designed this course specifically for educators who might be starting from scratch. Our professional artists will guide you through the basics of can control and lettering before moving into more advanced mural techniques. By the end of the session, you'll have the confidence to demonstrate these skills to your students, regardless of your starting point.

How do you handle safety concerns and fumes in a school environment?

Safety is our number one priority, especially in a school setting. During the training, we cover the importance of high-quality respirators, proper ventilation, and skin protection. We also discuss eco-friendly 'water-based' spray paint options that are safer for younger students and the environment. You will leave the workshop with a comprehensive safety checklist to use whenever you run a street art session in your own classroom.

Will I receive a certificate of completion for professional development?

Yes! Every teacher who completes our development programme in Iasi receives a formal certificate of completion. This document outlines the specific street art techniques, safety protocols, and pedagogical methods covered during the training. It’s a great addition to your professional portfolio and serves as proof of your commitment to modernising art education through engaging, contemporary mediums.

How long does a typical teacher training session last?

We recommend a minimum of 1.5 to 2 hours to get the most out of the experience, but we can extend this for more intensive masterclasses. The first half is usually dedicated to technique and 'sketching with paint', while the second half focuses on collaborative mural creation. We are flexible and can adapt the timing to fit your department's professional development schedule or 'Methodical Day' requirements.

Are materials like spray cans and masks included in the cost?

All professional materials are included in the price. We provide premium spray cans in a wide variety of colours, specialized nozzles (caps) for different line widths, protective gloves, masks, and coveralls to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the canvases or surfaces we'll be painting on. Just show up with an open mind and wear some comfortable shoes you don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on!

Can we incorporate local Iasi culture into our art projects?

Iasi has a rich cultural history, and we love incorporating that into our sessions. While graffiti is modern, we often encourage teachers to think about how they can blend traditional Romanian motifs or local Iasi landmarks with street art styles. This creates a unique 'Neo-Traditional' approach that is incredibly popular in schools right now, helping students connect their heritage with contemporary urban culture.

How do I adapt these techniques for different student age groups?

We believe street art is for everyone! During the session, we discuss how to adapt graffiti techniques for different age groups—from primary school children using markers and large-scale murals to secondary students handling spray cans. We provide tips on simplifying complex 'wildstyle' letters into manageable shapes that younger kids can master, ensuring your curriculum is inclusive and accessible for all your pupils.
