Do I need to be a professional artist to join the training?

Absolutely no prior experience is needed! Our training is designed to take you from 'zero to hero'. We start with the basics of spray can control and safety, then gradually move into more complex techniques. By the time we finish, you will have the confidence and the skills to guide your own students through a successful graffiti session. We focus on making the learning process fun and approachable for everyone.

Is spraying graffiti safe for a classroom environment?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 masks, gloves, and protective suits for every participant. During the training, we teach you exactly how to set up a safe workspace for your students, including ventilation requirements and proper handle-and-storage techniques for aerosol cans. You will leave the workshop with a comprehensive safety checklist that you can implement immediately in your own classroom or art studio here in Ploiesti.

What materials do I need to bring to the session?

We provide everything! You don't need to bring a single thing. We supply a wide range of professional spray paints, various nozzles (caps), protective gear, and practice surfaces. We also provide digital resources and training manuals that you can keep. Just come dressed in clothes you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on, even though we provide suits, and bring plenty of creative energy!

How long does a typical training session last?

Our standard teacher training sessions usually last between 2 and 4 hours. This timeframe allows us to cover the history of street art, master technical skills, and discuss pedagogical approaches for teaching the medium. However, we can also offer extended full-day intensives or multi-session courses if your school or organisation wants to dive deeper into specific mural techniques or community project planning.

How can I apply these skills to the national curriculum?

The techniques you learn are incredibly versatile. While spray paint is the traditional medium, we also teach you how to adapt graffiti styles for markers, stencils, and even digital tools. These skills are perfect for standard art curriculum topics like colour theory, typography, and social commentary. Many teachers use our training to launch 'street art weeks' or to help students create collaborative murals on school grounds.

What is the cost of the professional development workshop?

We offer flexible pricing based on your group size and the specific materials required. For individuals or small groups in Ploiesti, prices generally range between 100 and 220 RON per person. We aim to keep our professional development sessions accessible for educators. Because every school or community group has different needs, we recommend contacting us for a bespoke quote tailored to your specific goals and budget.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes! Upon completion of our Graffitifun Teacher Training, we provide a certificate of participation. This document outlines the technical skills and safety procedures you have mastered. While it serves as a great addition to your professional portfolio, the real value lies in the hands-on experience and the practical 'lesson plans' you will be ready to deploy with your own students the very next day.

The experience

Standard professional development can be a bit... well, dry. We change that by putting a spray can in your hand and showing you how to channel student energy into a positive, artistic outlet. Here is why Ploiesti teachers love our training:

Instant Student Engagement: Graffiti is "cool" by default — you'll have no trouble getting students interested in art history and technique. 🚀
Boost Your Confidence: Master a new medium that many are intimidated by, and become the "go-to" expert in your school. 💪
Safe & Controlled: Learn how to manage the mess and the "fumes" like a pro, ensuring a safe environment for everyone. 🛡️
Practical Lesson Plans: We don't just teach you how to paint; we give you the tools to teach others, including curriculum links. 📚
Stress Relief: Honestly? Spray painting is incredibly therapeutic. You’ll leave our session feeling refreshed and inspired. ✨
No Payment Upfront: We trust our fellow educators! You only pay after the workshop is successfully completed. 🏆

Step by step

Introduction to Street Art Culture: We kick things off with a brief, high-energy look at the history and evolution of graffiti from the streets to the galleries.
Safety and Equipment Mastery: Before we touch a can, you will learn the ins and outs of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and how to manage a classroom safely.
Basic Can Control: You will get hands-on with the cans, learning about 'fat' and 'skinny' caps to control line thickness and pressure.
Lettering and Styles: Our artists guide you through alphabet construction, from classic tags to more complex 3D 'throw-ups'.
Technique Lab: Put your skills to the test with fading, shading, and blending colours to create depth and 'pop' in your work.
Stencil and Detail Work: Learn how to use stencils and fine-detail nozzles to add professional-grade finishing touches to any piece.
Pedagogical Workshop: We discuss how to translate these skills into a classroom setting, focusing on lesson planning and student engagement.
The Masterpiece Challenge: You will complete a final piece on a canvas or wall, applying everything you have learned throughout the session.
Wrap-up and Q&A: We finish with a feedback session and a look at how to order the best supplies for your school on a budget.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Ploiesti has always been a city of industry and movement, but beneath the surface, there is a pulse of incredible creative energy. From the hidden gems of street art near the city centre to the grand architectural backdrops of the Prahova region, Ploiesti provides the perfect canvas for artistic evolution. Our training sessions tap into this local spirit, encouraging teachers to look at their city walls as potential galleries of the future. 🖌️

Fun Fact: Did you know that Ploiesti’s own street art scene is growing? Local festivals and private initiatives are starting to transform grey industrial spaces into colourful landmarks, making it the perfect time to get involved!

Whether you're based near the Clock Museum or out towards the university district, we bring the vibe of a modern art studio to you. We're proud to support the local teaching community in making Ploiesti a more colourful place to live and learn.
