Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the teacher training?

Absolutely not! This training is designed for educators of all skill levels. Whether you are a seasoned painter or someone who has never touched a spray can, our professional artists will guide you through the basics of can control, nozzle types, and safety protocols. By the end of the session, you'll have the confidence to demonstrate these techniques to your students effectively.

What safety measures are covered during the professional development?

We take safety very seriously. During the Västerås workshop, we provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to ensure no one inhales fumes or gets paint on their clothes. We also teach you how to set up a safe 'spray zone' in a school environment, including proper ventilation practices and how to manage students around aerosol products responsibly.

Do you provide educational materials or lesson plans?

Yes, we do! Beyond the physical act of painting, we provide a structured curriculum that covers the history of street art, the evolution of 'tagging' into high art, and the legal distinctions between vandalism and commissioned murals. You will receive digital resources and lesson plan ideas that you can immediately integrate into your classroom syllabus in Västerås.

How long does a typical training session last?

The training typically lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This timeframe is perfect for a deep dive into both the practical and theoretical aspects of graffiti. We start with the 'Tag Creator' theory and move quickly into hands-on practice. We find this duration keeps energy levels high while providing enough time for every teacher to complete a substantial piece of work.

Can the training take place at our school in Västerås?

Flexibility is key for us. We can host the training at one of our dedicated legal graffiti walls in Västerås, or we can bring the entire setup to your school grounds if you have a suitable outdoor space. We provide all the mobile boards, drop cloths, and equipment needed to turn a school car park or courtyard into a temporary street art studio.

How does graffiti benefit my students' development?

Street art is an incredible tool for reaching students who might feel disconnected from traditional fine arts. It promotes 'flow state,' boosts self-esteem through large-scale creation, and encourages collaboration. In our training, we show you how to use graffiti to teach colour theory, typography, and even social studies, making your art department the most talked-about part of the school!

How do I book a session for my department?

Booking is simple and stress-free. You can use our online Cost Calculator to get an instant estimate for your group size. Once you're ready, just send us a request. We don't require any upfront payment—you only pay after the workshop is completed and you're 100% satisfied with the experience. We also have backup artists ready to ensure your event never gets cancelled.

The experience

Professional development doesn't have to be a boring lecture. In Västerås, we offer a high-octane alternative that actually builds useful skills for the modern classroom. Here is why our training stands out:

Engage Disengaged Students: Learn the 'cool factor' that brings even the most reluctant students back into the art room. 🔥
Build Teacher Confidence: Master a medium that many find intimidating, proving to your students that you're always learning too.
Curriculum Ready: Our techniques are designed to fit right into your existing art and design modules.
Stress Relief: There is something incredibly therapeutic about the rhythmic flow of spray painting—the ultimate team-building for staff! 💪
Zero Risk: With our "pay after the workshop" policy and 100% satisfaction focus, your school's budget is in safe hands.

Don't forget to check out our Tag Creator to start experimenting with style before we even meet! 🎤

Step by step

Introduction to Street Culture: We kick off by exploring the history of graffiti, from New York subways to the galleries of Sweden, ensuring you have the context to teach your students.
Gear and Safety Briefing: Learn about different cap (nozzle) types, pressure levels in cans, and how to use protective equipment correctly in a classroom setting.
The Art of the Tag: Before spraying, we practice lettering. You'll learn how to develop a unique 'handstyle' and how to help students find their creative identity.
Can Control Workshops: Head to the wall to master lines, fades, and fills. Our artists show you the physical 'dance' of moving with the can for smooth results.
Creating a Lesson Plan: We brainstorm how to align graffiti techniques with the Swedish national curriculum, focusing on expression and technique.
Collaborative Mural Project: Teachers work together on a large-scale piece, experiencing the same teamwork and problem-solving challenges their students will face.
Clean-up and Management: Discover the best practices for managing paint supplies and keeping art rooms clean and organised after a messy session.

Our training sessions are designed to be as seamless as possible for busy school schedules.

Duration: 1.5 to 3 hours of intensive, fun learning.
Group Sizes: We cater to small departmental teams or large school-wide staff groups.
