Do I need to have prior graffiti experience to join?

Absolutely no prior experience is needed! Our Helsingborg sessions are designed to take you from a complete novice to a confident street art educator. We start with basic safety and can control before moving into more complex lettering and mural design. The goal is to give you the skills and the confidence to demonstrate these techniques to your own students, regardless of your current artistic background.

What materials are included in the training?

We provide everything you need to get started. This includes high-quality spray paint, a variety of nozzles (caps), respiratory protection, gloves, and protective suits. We also provide the practice surfaces and design materials. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on—even with the suits, stray mist happens!

Is the workshop safe for teachers to lead later?

Yes, safety is our top priority. Our instructors are experts in legal street art practices and health protocols. We teach you how to set up a safe workspace for students, including proper ventilation, PPE usage, and site management. You will leave the workshop with a clear safety checklist that you can implement in your own school or community centre in Helsingborg.

How long does the professional development session last?

For our Helsingborg teacher training, we usually recommend a session length of 2.5 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for the theoretical introduction, hands-on practice, and a final collaborative mural project. If you have a specific schedule or a large department of teachers, we can certainly adjust the timing to fit your professional development day.

Can this training be used for subjects other than art?

Our training is highly versatile. While we focus on art teachers, the skills are applicable for youth workers, team leads, and community organisers. The techniques you learn can be integrated into history lessons (the evolution of street art), social studies (urban culture), or even physics (pressure and spray mechanics). It’s a fantastic way to make the curriculum more relatable to younger generations.

Is the training focused on legal street art?

Helsingborg has a vibrant and growing urban art scene, and we focus strictly on legal, sanctioned street art expression. Part of our training includes educating you and your students on the difference between illegal graffiti and community-authorised mural art. We help you find ways to channel student creativity into positive, legal outlets that enhance the local environment rather than defacing it.
