Do we need any prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely! Our Salto university workshops are designed specifically for beginners. We start with a comprehensive safety briefing and basic technique demo. Our professional artists stay by your side, showing you how to control the nozzle, manage pressure, and create clean lines. You'll be surprised at how quickly you'll go from a nervous first-timer to a confident spray-can pro. We're all about learning through doing and having fun while we're at it!

How long does a typical workshop session last?

Standard university sessions in Salto usually run between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us plenty of time for the introduction, the design phase, and the main painting event. If you have a specific schedule—like a gap between lectures or a multi-day student festival—just let us know. We can easily adapt the pace to fit your itinerary without rushing the creative process.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We've got you covered! Graffitifun provides everything your group needs. This includes high-quality spray cans in a rainbow of colours, protective overalls, gloves, and respiratory masks. We also provide the canvases or temporary walls for the artwork. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit dusty, and we’ll handle all the messy logistics.

Is the spray paint safe and what safety gear is provided?

Safety is our top priority. We use low-odour, professional-grade spray paints and provide all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including masks and gloves. Our instructors are highly experienced in managing group dynamics and ensuring the environment remains safe for everyone. We usually set up in well-ventilated or outdoor spaces to ensure a comfortable and secure creative environment for all participants.

How does the payment process work for university groups?

The best part about our university workshops is that there is no upfront payment required! You can book your session, lock in the date with our artists, and handle the payment after the workshop has been successfully completed. We believe in our service so much that we want you to be 100% satisfied before we settle the bill. It makes the admin side much easier for student unions!

Where do the workshops take place—is it on actual walls?

While we love the idea of transforming the city, we only paint where it is legal and safe. For our Salto workshops, we typically use large professional canvases or mobile wooden walls. This means you get to keep the final masterpiece to display in your student lounge or faculty building! If your university has a specific wall they’ve designated for a mural, we can certainly discuss the possibilities for a permanent installation.

Safety first: We suit everyone up in protective gear and explain the safe handling of the spray cans and equipment.
Technique demo: Watch a live demo of 'can control', including how to make thin lines, fat fills, and cool gradients.

Local culture

Salto is a city that breathes history and creativity, from its stunning riverside views to the bustling energy around the University of the Republic campus. While Salto is famous for its thermal springs and citrus groves, there is a growing appreciation for contemporary urban expression. Bringing a graffiti workshop here adds a fresh, modern layer to the city's rich cultural tapestry. We love the contrast of gritty, vibrant spray paint against the classic architecture of the city centre. 🏛️

Fun Fact: Did you know Salto is the birthplace of legendary footballers and world-class poets? It’s a place where talent flows naturally. Our workshops aim to tap into that local "Salteño" spirit, encouraging students to combine traditional local pride with modern street aesthetics. Whether we're painting near the Rio Uruguay or right in the heart of the educational district, the inspiration is everywhere!
