Do we need any previous art experience to join?

Absolutely! Our workshops are designed for everyone, from those who can't draw a stick figure to seasoned art students. Our professional artists guide you through every step, starting with basic spray techniques and safety. Most university students in Mercedes find that the 'lack of skill' actually leads to the most creative and unexpected results. It’s all about the experience and having a blast with your mates!

What materials are provided during the workshop?

We provide everything you need for a legendary session in Mercedes. This includes high-quality spray cans in a rainbow of colours, protective masks, gloves, and overalls to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the canvases or boards you'll be painting on. All you need to bring is your energy, some old shoes you don't mind getting a bit of dust on, and your creative ideas!

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard university workshop in Mercedes typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of your masterpiece. We can also adjust the timing to fit into a specific campus event schedule or a shorter 'taster' session if you're planning a larger university festival.

Is it safe? What about the fumes and paint?

Safety is our top priority. We use low-odour, high-quality spray paints and provide all participants with professional-grade FFP2/FFP3 masks and nitrile gloves. Workshops are ideally held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or large open halls. Our instructors are experienced pros who manage the group to ensure everyone uses the equipment correctly and stays safe while having a great time.

How does the payment process work? Do we pay upfront?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. We don't require any upfront payment to secure your booking in Mercedes. You only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed and everyone is happy. We believe in our service so much that we want you to be 100% satisfied before we settle the bill. It's totally stress-free for student unions!

Can we paint a permanent mural on our campus?

Definitely! We love helping students create something lasting. If your university in Mercedes has a specific wall or area where murals are permitted, we can transition from individual canvases to a large-scale collaborative mural. This is a fantastic way to leave a creative mark on your campus that future students can enjoy. Just let us know in advance so we can prep the right gear.

What is the minimum or maximum group size?

We can accommodate almost any group size! Whether you’re a small committee of 10 people or a massive freshers' week crowd of 100+, we have the staff and materials to make it happen. For very large groups, we often set up multiple 'stations' or rotate groups through the spray zone to ensure everyone gets plenty of time with a can in their hand.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next university bash in Mercedes? It’s not just about the paint; it’s about the experience of doing something completely outside the box. Here’s why it’s a total winner: 🔥

Stress Buster: There’s nothing like the hiss of a spray can to help you forget about exam stress and deadlines. It's incredibly therapeutic!
Inclusion for All: You don't need to be an 'art student' to be good at this. We make sure everyone—from engineers to historians—feels like a pro.
Perfect for Socials: It’s a great icebreaker for new students or a fantastic way for existing societies to bond over a shared masterpiece.
Instagram Gold: Let’s be real—your student social media feed will look amazing with shots of you rocking a mask and creating street art.
Zero Risk Booking: With our 'pay after the workshop' policy and backup artist guarantee, your student union funds are in safe hands.
Professional Vibe: Learn from real graff artists who live and breathe the culture, giving you an authentic experience you won't find in a classroom.

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We start with a quick meet-and-greet and a vital safety briefing. We'll show you how to use the gear properly to keep things fun and safe.
The tag creator: Before we touch a can, we use our digital tools to brainstorm styles and lettering. You'll get a feel for the flow of graffiti art.
Can control basics: Our pros demonstrate 'can control'—learning how to make thin lines, fat drips, and smooth gradients. It's like a magic wand, but cooler.
Sketching your concept: You'll grab some markers and sketch your design onto the canvas. Whether it's your name, a mascot, or something abstract, the floor is yours.
First layers: Now the fun starts! You'll apply your base colours and start filling in your shapes under the watchful eye of our Mercedes artists.
Outlining & Detail: This is where the art pops. We'll teach you how to 'cut' lines and add those sharp outlines that make graffiti so striking.
Highlights & Effects: Add some 'shine', 3D shadows, or splatters to give your piece that professional street art edge.
The final reveal: We gather around for a 'gallery walk' to admire everyone's work. It's the perfect time for those campus Instagram shots!
Cleanup & Wrap-up: We handle the mess. You take home your masterpiece and some seriously cool new skills.

Local culture

Mercedes, the 'City of Landscapes', has always had a deep connection to visual beauty, sitting proudly on the banks of the Río Negro. While it’s famous for its jazz festivals and historic architecture, there’s a growing appetite for modern urban expression among the student population. Engaging with street art here feels like a natural extension of the city's artistic soul. We love bringing our workshops to this part of Uruguay because the energy of the youth in Soriano is unmatched. ⚡

Fun Fact for Mercedes Students: Did you know that Mercedes is often called the "Capital of Tourism" in the region? Adding a splash of graffiti art to the local student scene just adds another layer to the city's vibrant cultural tapestry!
