What exactly is a creative retreat workshop in Mercedes?

A creative retreat workshop is a curated artistic experience designed to foster connection, relaxation, and self-expression. In Mercedes, we move away from traditional classrooms and take our spray cans into inspiring local settings. It’s not just about learning a technique; it’s about slow-living, enjoying the Soriano breeze, and discovering a new passion alongside friends or colleagues. No previous artistic experience is needed—just an open mind and a desire to create something beautiful.

Do I need to have any previous drawing or painting skills?

Absolutely not! Our Mercedes retreat sessions are designed for everyone, from those who haven't held a pen in years to seasoned hobbyists. Our professional artists guide you through every step, from basic nozzle control to advanced layering techniques. By the end of the day, you’ll be amazed at the masterpiece you’ve created. We focus on the 'fun' in Graffitifun, ensuring a stress-free environment where mistakes are just part of the art.

What equipment is included in the Mercedes workshop package?

We provide everything you need for a perfect creative getaway. This includes high-quality spray cans in a vast array of vibrant colours, professional-grade masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the canvases or designated wall space for your work. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and comfortable shoes. We handle the setup and the cleanup so you can focus entirely on your art.

Is the spray paint safe to use during the workshop?

Safety is our number one priority. We use low-odour, high-quality spray paints and provide all participants with professional respiratory masks and protective gear. Our instructors are experienced professionals who provide a comprehensive safety briefing before any paint is sprayed. We also ensure our workshop locations in Mercedes are well-ventilated and spacious, allowing for a comfortable and secure environment for all participants to enjoy their creative journey.

How long does a typical retreat session last?

Our retreat workshops typically last between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the specific package you choose. This timeframe allows for a relaxed pace where you can learn the history of street art, practice different spray techniques, and complete a final piece without feeling rushed. If you are looking for a more intensive full-day experience or a multi-day retreat in the Soriano region, we can certainly customise an itinerary for you.

Where in Mercedes do the retreat workshops usually take place?

Mercedes is a hidden gem for retreats! We host workshops in various scenic spots, including private garden estates, Riverside locations near the Río Negro, or even at local cultural 'espacios'. The exact location can be tailored to your group's needs. Whether you want the calming sounds of the river or the historic atmosphere of a colonial-style patio, we find the perfect backdrop to inspire your collective creativity.

How do I book and what are the payment terms?

Booking is simple! Because every retreat is unique, our prices depend on your group size and the specific setup you’re after. You can use our online Cost Calculator for a quick estimate or simply reach out through our contact form. We don’t require any upfront payment—you only pay after the workshop is complete and you're 100% satisfied with the experience. We’re all about making the process as smooth as the paint!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Mercedes, the heart of the Soriano department, is famed for its stunning waterfront (the 'Rambla') and its deep connection to traditional Uruguayan art. But there's a modern pulse here too! By bringing a graffiti retreat to this historic city, we bridge the gap between classic landscape appreciation and contemporary urban expression. Our workshops often take inspiration from the shimmering waters of the Río Negro and the lush greenery of Isla del Puerto. 🌊

Fun Fact: Did you know Mercedes is known as the "City of Landscapes"? It's the perfect place to swap a traditional paintbrush for a spray can and reinvent the classic Uruguayan landscape in 3D street art style!

If you're looking for more than just a retreat, check out our other local options. We also host kids parties and high-impact brand activations right here in town, or in nearby Montevideo and Paysandu.
