Is the workshop safe for secondary school students?

Safety is our top priority! We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls to keep everyone safe and clean. Our instructors are professional artists who provide a thorough safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can. We use low-odour, high-quality paints designed for ease of use, ensuring that the students can focus entirely on their creativity in a secure and controlled environment.

Do the students need previous art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to budding young artists. Our expert instructors guide the students through every step, starting with basic lines and moving on to complex filling techniques. Most students are surprised by how much they can achieve in just a couple of hours. It’s all about building confidence and having a great time with friends.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything! This includes a wide range of professional spray paint colours, protective gear (overalls, gloves, and masks), and the surfaces to paint on. We can set up mobile cellophane walls, use large canvases, or even paint a permitted wall at your school. You just need to bring your energy and some old clothes and shoes, just in case a little paint gets where it shouldn't!

How long does a standard workshop session last?

Our secondary school workshops in Mercedes typically last between 1.5 to 3 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for keeping students engaged without them getting tired. We can easily adjust the timing to fit into a standard school double-period or an afternoon activities slot. If you have a specific schedule in mind, just let us know and we will make it work!

Can we choose a specific theme for the artwork?

Absolutely! Graffiti is a fantastic way to explore themes like identity, community, or local history. If your class is studying a particular topic, we can tailor the design phase of the workshop to reflect those themes. It’s a brilliant way to make curriculum subjects feel more 'real' and vibrant for the students through a hands-on, modern medium.

Where do the workshops take place in Mercedes?

We are totally flexible! We can host the workshop directly on your school grounds using our mobile setups, or we can look for authorized street art spots around Mercedes. If the weather isn't looking great, we can even set up indoors in a well-ventilated hall or gym using special floor protections. We always have a backup plan to ensure the fun doesn't stop.

Do we need to pay upfront to book?

We believe in our service 100%, so we don't require any payment before the workshop takes place. You only pay after the session is completed and everyone is happy with the result. This takes the stress out of the booking process for schools and ensures we are always motivated to deliver the best possible experience for your students.

What is the maximum group size?

A typical group size is between 15 and 30 students per artist to ensure everyone gets enough individual attention. However, we have a large team of backup artists available, so we can cater to entire year groups at once if needed. Just tell us your numbers, and we will bring the right amount of staff to keep things interactive and safe.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your secondary school in Mercedes? It’s more than just painting; it’s about building skills that last a lifetime. Here’s why it’s a total win for your students:

Boosts Confidence: Seeing a giant, colourful mural completed in hours gives students a massive sense of achievement. 💪
Teamwork in Action: Collaborative pieces require students to communicate and work together to create a unified vision. 🤝
Stress Relief: There is something incredibly therapeutic about the rhythmic motion of spray painting—it's a great mental health break. ✨
Safe Expression: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, focusing on legal, respectful creativity. 🛡️
No Talent Barrier: You don't have to be 'good at art' to make something that looks amazing with graffiti techniques. 🌈
Professional Mentorship: Students learn directly from working artists, gaining insight into creative career paths. 🎤

Step by step

Intro & Inspiration: We start with a brief history of street art and a look at different styles to get the creative juices flowing.
Safety First: Students suit up in protective gear and learn the essential 'rules of the road' for using spray cans safely.
The Masterclass: Our artists demonstrate key techniques, from nozzle control and line thickness to fading and 'flare' effects.
Sketching the Vision: In small groups or individually, students sketch out their ideas on paper, planning their colours and layout.
Outline Practice: Time to pick up the cans! Students start by practicing their outlines on the designated surface.
Filling & Shading: This is where the magic happens as we add vibrant colours, gradients, and shadows to make the art pop.
Final Details: We add the 'shine' and sharp outlines to give the piece a professional, finished look.
The Big Reveal: A group photo session with the final masterpiece to celebrate everything the students have achieved!

Local culture

Mercedes, known as the "City of Roses," is already a hub of beauty, but we think a touch of modern street art adds a fantastic contemporary edge! While the city is famous for its jazz festivals and stunning riverside views, the younger generation is always looking for new ways to express their identity. Our workshops tap into that local pride, encouraging students to draw inspiration from the landscapes of Soriano or the rhythmic energy of the local culture. 🌿

Fun Fact: Did you know that Mercedes has a long-standing tradition of muralism? By bringing a graffiti workshop to your secondary school, you're helping students connect with a modern evolution of Uruguay's rich history of public art! 🇺🇾

Pricing

Our workshop prices are as unique as the art we create! Prices depend on your group size, the duration of the session, and the specific setup you need. We believe in transparency and fairness, so you'll never find hidden fees here.
