Do I need to have any artistic skills to participate?

Absolutely not! Our Mercedes workshop is designed for everyone, from total beginners to seasoned creatives. Our professional artists will guide you through every step, starting with basic can control and ending with a piece you'll be proud of. Most of our guests have never held a spray can before they arrive, so you’ll be in great company. Just bring your enthusiasm and we’ll handle the rest!

What should I wear to the graffiti workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little 'artistic' on. While we provide high-quality protective overalls and gloves, graffiti can occasionally be a bit messy, and spray paint is permanent! Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are also a must for safety while moving around the session area. Whether we are painting near the Rambla or a private venue, being comfortable is key to enjoying the experience.

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our top priority at Graffitifun. We provide all necessary protective equipment, including professional-grade masks to ensure you aren't breathing in fumes, as well as gloves and overalls. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated areas, often outdoors to take advantage of the beautiful Mercedes climate. Our instructors are also trained to manage the equipment safely, ensuring a fun and worry-free environment for all participants.

How long does a typical session last?

Standard workshops in Mercedes usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time to go through the history of street art, practice different techniques, and complete a final collaborative or individual masterpiece. If you are booking for a specific cultural event or a larger group, we can tailor the duration to fit your schedule perfectly. We promise the time will fly by while you're in the creative zone!

What is the maximum group size for an event?

The beauty of our workshops is their flexibility! We can host small, intimate groups or large-scale cultural events with dozens of participants. For very large groups, we bring in additional backup artists to ensure everyone gets personal attention and guidance. Whether it's a small gathering of friends or a major community festival in Soriano, we have the staff and equipment to make it a massive success.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change. One of our core values is flexibility, which is why we don't require upfront payments. You can settle the bill after the workshop is completed and you're 100% satisfied. If you need to reschedule or cancel your Mercedes event, just let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust our artists' schedules. We aim to be the most stress-free part of your event planning!

Step by step

The warm-up: We kick things off with a brief intro to the culture of street art and a safety briefing to get everyone comfortable.
Concept sketching: Grab a marker and paper! You'll brainstorm your designs and learn how to structure a graffiti 'piece'.
First lines: Our artists show you how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create your first clean lines on the practice wall.
Filling in: Learn the techniques for smooth colour transitions and solid fills without the drips.
The outline: This is where the magic happens! We'll teach you how to add the sharp outlines that make your art pop.
Adding highlights: Learn how to use white and lighter shades to give your work a 3D effect and extra shine.
Final details: Add those professional 'second outlines' or decorative elements like bubbles and stars to finish the piece.
The reveal: Step back, snap some photos, and admire the collective masterpiece you've created in the heart of Mercedes!

Local culture

Mercedes isn't just known for its stunning Rambla and the Rio Negro; it's a city with a deep-rooted appreciation for the arts. From the historic Jazz a la Calle festival to the local galleries, there is a pulse of creativity here that makes it the perfect backdrop for a modern street art intervention. Our workshops often draw inspiration from the city's scenic waterfront and neoclassical architecture, blending old-world charm with contemporary urban expression.

Fun Fact: Mercedes is often called the "City of Roses," but it's also a hub for Uruguayan murals! Bringing a graffiti workshop here adds a fresh, modern layer to its long-standing artistic heritage. 🌹🎨
