Do I need to have any artistic experience to join?

Absolutely not! Our Canberra workshops are designed specifically for beginners. Most of our participants have never held a spray can before. Our professional street artists will guide you through everything from basic nozzle control to advanced layering techniques. We provide a safe, supportive environment where you can experiment, make mistakes, and ultimately create something you're proud of. It's all about having a go and enjoying the creative process.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything you need to get painting! This includes high-quality spray paint in a huge range of colours, protective masks, gloves, and overalls to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the canvases or boards that you'll be painting on. All you need to bring is some old clothes you don't mind getting a bit of dust on, comfortable closed-toe shoes, and your enthusiasm. We've got the rest covered!

Is graffiti painting safe for kids and adults?

The safety of our participants is our number one priority. We use low-pressure spray cans which are easier to control and provide high-quality, professional-grade respiratory masks for everyone. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces across Canberra. Our instructors are experienced professionals who provide a full safety briefing before any paint is sprayed, ensuring a fun and injury-free experience for all ages.

How long does a typical workshop last?

A standard public art workshop in Canberra typically runs for about 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, plenty of practice time, and the creation of your final masterpiece. If you're looking for something more intensive or a shorter "taster" session for a festival, we can definitely customise the duration to suit your group's specific needs.

Can you host the workshop at my own location?

We are incredibly flexible with locations! We have several "secret spots" and legal walls around Canberra that we use regularly. However, if you have a private venue, a school playground, or a corporate backyard in suburbs like Belconnen or Kingston, we can bring the entire mobile studio to you. As long as there is adequate ventilation and we have permission to be there, we can turn almost any space into a vibrant street art hub.

What happens if it rains on the day?

Graffiti is a weather-dependent art form, but we always have a plan B! If the Canberra weather turns sour, we try to move to a sheltered outdoor area or an indoor space with industrial-grade ventilation. If the weather is truly "un-paintable," we offer flexible rescheduling options. We also have backup artists ready to step in, so you never have to worry about a last-minute cancellation from our end. Your event will go ahead!

How do I pay and is a deposit required?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our "No Stress" booking policy. You don't need to pay anything upfront to secure your date. We believe in our service so much that you only pay after the workshop is complete and you're stoked with the results. We accept bank transfers and major credit cards. It’s a risk-free way to bring some world-class creativity to your next Canberra event or gathering.

Local culture

Canberra might be known for its grand monuments and political circles, but beneath the surface lies a thriving, colourful street art soul. From the ever-changing legal walls in Tuggeranong to the hidden gems tucked away in the Civic lanes, the "Bush Capital" is a playground for urban creatives. Our workshops tap into this local energy, celebrating the unique blend of clean city design and raw artistic expression found in the ACT. We love showing people that Canberra's beauty isn't just in its architecture, but in the vibrant community-driven art that brings its suburbs to life. ✨

🎨 Canberra Fun Fact: Did you know that Canberra has several designated "Free Walls" where street art is actually encouraged? Places like the Woden Drains have become legendary outdoor galleries, attracting artists from all over Australia!
