Do I need to have any artistic experience to join?

Absolutely! Most of our Canberra pop-up participants have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists break down the process into easy-to-follow steps, from mastering nozzle pressure to layering colours. We provide a safe, supportive environment where 'mistakes' are just part of the art. You'll be surprised at how quickly you'll be creating crisp lines and vibrant fills under our expert guidance.🎨

What materials are included in the pop-up event?

We’ve got you covered! Graffitifun provides high-quality spray paint in a rainbow of colours, professional-grade masks, gloves, and protective ponchos. We also provide the canvases or boards for the pop-up. We just recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you wouldn't mind getting a tiny speck of paint on—just in case you get a bit too enthusiastic with the 'splatter' technique!✨

Is the graffiti workshop safe?

Safety is our number one priority. We use low-odour, high-quality paints and provide all necessary PPE, including certified masks and gloves. Our instructors are highly experienced in managing group dynamics and ensuring the equipment is used correctly. We also ensure our pop-up locations in Canberra are well-ventilated and have plenty of space for everyone to create safely and comfortably.🛡️

How long does the pop-up experience last?

Our standard Canberra pop-up workshops usually run for about 2 to 2.5 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of street art, a demonstration of basic techniques, plenty of hands-on practice, and the final creation of your masterpiece. We find this is the 'sweet spot' where everyone stays energised and inspired without getting tired arms from all that shaking!💪

What are the costs for a Canberra pop-up event?

Typical pricing in Canberra ranges from A$40 to A$90 per person. The total cost depends on factors like the number of participants, the specific location, and if you want any custom extras (like take-home canvases). The best part? There’s no upfront payment required—you pay after the workshop! Hit our cost calculator for an instant estimate or request a custom quote for your group.💰

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

While we love the great Canberra outdoors, we always have a Plan B. If the weather turns 'Typical Canberra' (four seasons in one day!), we can often move to a covered area or reschedule. Because we have a large team of backup artists, we almost never have to cancel an event due to staff illness, giving you total peace of mind for your booking.🌈

Can you accommodate large groups for these events?

Our pop-up events are super flexible! Whether you’re a small group of mates (minimum 5-10 people) or a massive crowd for a community festival, we can scale our setup to suit. For very large groups, we bring in extra artists to ensure everyone gets that personal 'Graffitifun' touch and plenty of help with their technique. It's all about making sure nobody is left standing on the sidelines!🔥

Local culture

Canberra might be known for its museums and monuments, but the local street art scene is absolutely thriving! From the hidden gems in the Tocumwal Lane to the massive murals in Braddon, the city is a canvas waiting to be explored. Our pop-up events tap into this local creative spirit, offering a nod to the artists who have turned Canberra's urban spaces into outdoor galleries. We love setting up near the vibrant hubs of Lonsdale Street or the scenic shores of Lake Burley Griffin to get those creative juices flowing. 🎤

Fun Fact: Did you know Canberra has several "legal graffiti practice walls"? These spots allow artists to hone their craft without breaking the law, helping the capital develop one of the most sophisticated street art cultures in Australia!
