Why choose us in Lae?

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next university event? It is a total game-changer for student engagement. Unlike traditional sports or academic clubs, street art is a great leveller where everyone starts on the same page. Check out why students in Lae love it:

Instant Stress Relief: Blow off some steam from those long library sessions with a satisfying blast of spray paint! 🔥
Epic Social Content: Your campus mural will be the most Instagrammable spot in the city, guaranteed. 📸
Team Synergy: Nothing builds a bond like working together on a 10-metre long piece of art.
Zero Pressure: It is not a fine art class; it is about finding your own style and having a laugh with friends. 🎤
Skill Building: Learn a genuine new skill from professional artists who live and breathe this culture. 💪

How it works

Consultation & Vision: We start by chatting with your student group to decide on a theme—whether it is uni pride, a specific academic subject, or just pure abstract fun.
Site Prep: Our team arrives early in Lae to set up the workspace, laying down protective covers and setting up the boards or canvases.
Safety Briefing: Before the paint flies, we walk everyone through the safe use of aerosols and the importance of wearing the provided protective gear.
The Basics: Our pro artists demonstrate fundamental techniques like "fat caps" for filling, "skinny caps" for lines, and how to create perfect drips.
Sketching the Mural: Students help outline the main design, learning how to scale up a small sketch to a massive campus wall or board.
Free Flow Practice: Everyone gets a chance to practice their "tag" and get a feel for the pressure of the spray can.
The Big Fill: The group works together to add colour, shadows, and highlights to the main piece under the guidance of our mentors.
Finishing Touches: Our artists help with the tricky outlines and 'pops' that make the artwork look truly professional.
The Reveal & Photos: We celebrate the finished masterpiece with a group photo session—perfect for the university's social media pages!

Frequently asked questions

Do students need any prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely! Most university students in Lae have never held a spray can before. Our professional artists start with the basics, teaching you about nozzle control, fading, and outlining. We provide all the guidance needed so that even those who claim they 'can't draw a straight line' walk away with a piece of art they are genuinely proud of. It is all about the experience and having a blast with your mates.

Where in Lae do these university workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible. We can host the workshop directly on your University of Technology campus (with permission) or at a nearby community space in Lae. If you have a specific spot in mind, let us know! We also have access to various local 'legal walls' and indoor spaces where we can set up professional protective sheeting to ensure the area stays clean while the creativity flows.

How long does a typical session last?

Standard university workshops typically run between 1.5 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for a thorough introduction, practice techniques on plastic film or 연습 boards, and the final creation of a large-scale mural or individual canvases. We can adjust the timing to fit into a busy lecture schedule or make it a full-day event for student festivals and orientation weeks.

What safety gear and materials are provided?

Safety is our top priority. Graffitifun provides high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective overalls to keep your clothes paint-free. We use professional-grade spray paint that meets safety standards. Our artists provide a full safety briefing before anyone touches a can, ensuring that the environment remains fun, controlled, and completely safe for every student involved. Everyone stays protected while they create.

How does the payment process work for university groups?

We believe in fair play, which is why we don't require any upfront payment. You can book your university workshop today and settle the payment after the event is successfully completed. This gives student unions and university societies peace of mind. Plus, we always have backup artists on standby, so you never have to worry about a last-minute cancellation ruining your big event plans.

Can you accommodate large student groups or entire faculties?

The more, the merrier! We cater to everything from small club committees of 10 people to massive orientation events with over 100 students. For very large groups, we bring in multiple artists and set up several 'tagging stations' to ensure everyone gets plenty of time with the spray cans. Just let us know your expected turnout, and we will scale the materials and staff to match.
