Why choose us in Cuenca?

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next youth initiative? Street art is more than just paint on a wall; it's a powerful tool for social change and personal growth. In a city as culturally vibrant as Cuenca, giving young people the tools to create their own public art is incredibly empowering. Here’s why our projects stand out:

  • ✨ Boost confidence: Seeing a large-scale mural completed gives participants an immediate sense of accomplishment and pride.
  • 🔥 True teamwork: Building a mural requires communication, planning, and supporting each other—essential life skills!
  • 🎨 Professional mentors: Our artists aren't just talented; they're passionate about teaching and inspiring the next generation.
  • 🛡️ Safety first: We use top-tier protective gear and professional techniques so everyone stays safe while getting messy.
  • 💪 Community impact: Transform grey walls into colourful landmarks that the whole neighbourhood can enjoy.
  • 🏆 Zero stress booking: With no upfront payments and backup artists ready to go, your project is in safe hands.

How it works

  1. Initial consultation: Reach out to us to discuss your vision for the youth project and the specific goals of your Cuenca-based group.
  2. Design brainstorming: Our artists lead a collaborative session where the youth share ideas, themes, and sketches for the final piece.
  3. Location & preparation: We finalise the painting surface and handle all the logistics, ensuring the site is ready and safe for the group.
  4. Safety briefing: Every session starts with a thorough guide on how to use equipment correctly and respect the environment.
  5. Spray tech 101: Participants learn the fundamentals, from making thin lines and fades to mastering "filling" and "outlining" techniques.
  6. The outline phase: Under the guidance of a pro, the group begins sketching the main design onto the wall or canvas.
  7. Colouring & filling: This is the high-energy part! Everyone grabs a can and starts bringing the collaborative mural to life with vibrant colours.
  8. Final touches: Our mentors help the youth add those professional highlights and "bits" that make the artwork pop.
  9. The big reveal: We celebrate the finished masterpiece, take group photos, and reflect on the creative journey and community impact.

Frequently asked questions

Do the participants need to have any prior drawing or painting skills?

Absolutely! No artistic experience is required for our youth projects. Our professional mentors are experts at breaking down complex street art techniques into simple, manageable steps. We focus on 'learning by doing', allowing every participant to contribute regardless of their initial skill level. It's all about the process, the community, and having a blast with a spray can in hand!

Is it safe for young people to use spray cans?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls. Our spray paints are selected to be as safe as possible for outdoor use, and our facilitators are trained to manage groups in a controlled, professional environment. We ensure all youth projects are conducted with proper ventilation and strict adherence to safety protocols to keep everyone protected.

What kind of surfaces do you paint on durante the project?

We are incredibly flexible! While we love large-scale community murals that leave a lasting impact on Cuenca's streets, we can also work on individual canvases or portable boards. This allows participants to take their personal masterpieces home while still contributing to a collective vision. Whether it's a permanent wall or a pop-up art space, we make it happen.

How long does a typical graffiti workshop for youth last?

A standard youth project session typically lasts between 2 to 3 hours. However, for larger community initiatives or more complex murals, we can organise multi-day workshops. We tailor the duration to fit your specific schedule and the goals of the youth programme, ensuring there is enough time for both technical instruction and plenty of hands-on creative time.

What is the minimum age for participants in these youth projects?

We believe in the power of street art for everyone! Our youth projects are generally designed for ages 10 and up. This ensures that participants have the physical coordination to handle the spray cans safely and the focus to engage with the creative process. For younger groups, we can adjust the techniques and tools used to ensure everyone stays safe and has fun.

Are the materials included in the price of the workshop?

Everything is included! When you book with Graffitifun, we provide all the professional-grade spray paint, caps, safety equipment, and surfaces. We even bring the inspiration! You only need to provide the space (though we can help find locations) and a group of enthusiastic young people ready to get creative. There are no hidden costs or extra supplies to worry about.
