Is the graffiti workshop safe for teenagers and children?

Absolutely! We prioritise safety above all else. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for every participant. Our instructors are professional artists who have years of experience managing youth groups. We use low-odour spray paint whenever possible and ensure all workshops take place in well-ventilated outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces in Portoviejo. Your peace of mind is just as important to us as the creative output.

How long does a typical youth graffiti session last?

A standard youth project workshop usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This gives the group enough time to learn the basic strokes, understand the history of street art, and complete a final masterpiece. If you are planning a larger community mural in Portoviejo, we can extend the session over a full day or even a weekend to ensure every young person gets a chance to contribute.

Do we need to provide the location in Portoviejo?

We are fully mobile! While we have preferred creative spots around Portoviejo, we can come to your youth centre, sports club, or community park. We just need a legal wall or we can set up professional plastic film 'walls' or provide large canvases. As long as we have the space to move and create, we can turn almost any location into a vibrant street art studio.

Do the participants need any prior art experience?

Not at all. In fact, most of our participants have never touched a spray can before. Our artists are experts at breaking down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps. We start with 'can control' basics like lines and dots before moving on to tags and full colour fills. By the end of the session, everyone will have created something they can be proud of.

What materials are included in the youth project package?

We provide everything! This includes premium spray paint in a huge variety of colours, caps (nozzles), gloves, masks, and protective overalls to keep clothes clean. We also bring the surfaces to paint on if a wall isn't available. You just need to bring your energy, some old clothes (just in case!), and your creative ideas to the table. We handle all the messy logistics!

What happens if it rains or an artist is unavailable?

Rain doesn't have to stop the fun! If we are working outdoors and the weather turns, we have backup plans. We can often move the workshop to a covered area or use our special stretch-film walls in an indoor sports hall or community centre. Additionally, we have a pool of backup artists available, so you never have to worry about a last-minute cancellation from our side.

What is the maximum group size for a youth project?

To keep things personal and ensure everyone gets enough guidance, we generally recommend one artist for every 15 to 20 participants. However, we have the capacity to handle very large groups by bringing in multiple professional artists from our team. Whether you have a small group of 10 or a huge youth festival with 100+ attendees, we can scale the project to fit your needs perfectly.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next youth initiative? It’s more than just painting on walls—it’s about building bridges and boosting self-esteem. In a city as vibrant as Portoviejo, street art is the perfect language for the next generation. 🔥

Boosts Confidence: Seeing a giant mural they helped create gives young people a massive sense of achievement. 🏆
Teaches Collaboration: Graffiti murals require teamwork, communication, and shared vision to look great.
Safe & Legal: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, focusing on respect and creative expression.
Skill Development: From motor skills to colour theory, there’s a lot of "stealth learning" involved in every spray! 🧠
Inclusive Fun: You don't need to be a "traditional" artist to be great at graffiti—it’s an art form for everyone.
Expert Mentors: Our Portoviejo team consists of passionate pros who live and breathe this culture.

Step by step

Intro and safety briefing: We kick things off by meeting the group and handing out the gear. Everyone gets a mask and gloves, and we explain how to use the spray cans safely.
History and culture: Before we paint, we share some cool stories about graffiti culture and how it evolved from the streets to global galleries.
Mastering the tools: Our pros demonstrate 'can control'. The youth learn how to create thin lines, thick fades, and perfect dots to get a feel for the pressure.
Sketching the vision: We grab some paper or use the wall to sketch out the group's ideas. This is where the theme of the project really comes to life.
Outlining the piece: Time to hit the wall! Guided by our artists, the participants start laying down the 'bones' of the artwork with steady outlines.
Filling with colour: This is the favourite part—filling in the shapes with vibrant colours and learning how to blend and fade like a pro.
Adding the 'pop': We teach the group how to add highlights and second outlines to make their graffiti jump off the surface.
The grand reveal: We take a step back, clean up the edges, and admire the finished masterpiece. It’s the perfect moment for a group photo!
Tidying up: We ensure the area is left spotless, disposing of all cans and materials responsibly according to local Portoviejo guidelines.

Good to know

Duration: Usually 1.5 to 3 hours, but we can do full-day "mural takeovers" for larger community projects.
Group Sizes: We cater to everything from small groups of 5 to large-scale events with 100+ participants (with extra artists).
Included: All spray paint, caps, safety masks, gloves, protective suits, and the surfaces to paint on.
Safety first: We use high-grade protective gear and professional-grade, low-toxin paint. Safety is our #1 priority.
No Stress: No upfront payment required—you only pay after the workshop is successfully completed! 💪

Local culture

Portoviejo, the "City of the Royal Tamarinds", is a place bursting with culture and resilience. Since the 2016 earthquake, the city has seen a beautiful resurgence of public art, with murals popping up to tell stories of hope and local pride. Our workshops tap into this "Manaba" spirit, encouraging young people to contribute to the visual landscape of their own neighbourhoods. We love incorporating local elements—perhaps a stylised tamarind leaf or the vibrant colours of the Manabí province—into our designs. 🎭

Fun Fact: Did you know Portoviejo is one of the oldest cities in Ecuador? Founded in 1535, it has centuries of history that we love to blend with modern, urban graffiti styles during our creative sessions! 🇪🇨

Whether we're setting up near the Parque Las Vegas or in a local community hall, we make sure our graffiti youth projects feel like a natural part of the city's growing street art scene.
